It always rained around you
We tried to go inside and it would rain there too
It came pouring through the roof when we traveled underground
Whiskey, water, and tears 'til I thought that we would drown

Jolene, Jolene
Is it still raining everywhere you are?

We didn't hide from it at all
No we just let it fall
In the morning she was gone and everything was dry
The city streets were crowded and I felt like I would die

Now there's sunshine and flowers everywhere
And I don't care

All of these clouds will disappear
Like we were never here
But I swear there was a time I thought that it would never stop
And now I only think about you if it's raining or it's not

Should be paired with "Joline" by Dolly Parton, or the Mindy Smith cover version thereof.
Awful!
love the weepies!

Good song from an album with the most ridiculous "artwork"!

I'm a sucker for any song with a 'Jolene' in it. Like this a lot.

Ditto.

This is pretty good considering this is the Weepies.
Love it!  Thank you RP!
Aww shucks... my wife's name is Jolene.
Love a song with a snap brush on the drum... Ya

That's a very different song, with the same title.

Very different indeed — and maybe Cake's best song ever.

first hearing...excellent musicianship...like nickel creek.
hooray for great contemporary music...

Try the new album, Hideaway. Happiness is ok for a first effort, but Weepies have gotten better with age. I prefer the more mellow stuff... Also don't forget to try Deb's solo stuff... just as tasty.
Any song about 'Jolene' works for me.

Just when I thought I couldn't like RP any more, you play my favorite underappreciated band. More Weepies! (And solo Deb and Steve, too!)

Maybe I should also upload 'Jolene' by Cake so we can add another into the mix.

Peppier than Nickle Creek ? Great song!
I'm so glad to see The Weepies with some air play. Way to go RP.
I prefer this to the other "Jolene" we hear here.

Clearly, this "Jolene" is not the same "Jolene" as that other "Jolene," the one written by Dolly Parton but the version that was played the other day was by somebody else...'cause that one went, "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene" but this one only goes "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene." Totally different head -- totally.

I was so excited when you played the Weepies 'Jolene' on your station. I love RP.com and have suggested to several of my artist friends to submit their music. Deb Talan & Steve Tannen make beautiful, touching music together along with being genuinely sweet folk. I hope to hear more of their songs on your station!!!! They played two different sold out San Diego shows with my boyfriend, Carlos Olmeda and everyone one loved them! Thanks again! You guys ROCK! Love the format & the eclectic flare.
Deb Talan is Wicked Awesome 'cause she's from Boston! Pissahhhhh! Go Sox!!! Plus my roommate used to date her sister... "What does that make us?" "Absolutely nothing"

"I only think about you when it's raining and it's not" or something like that. Clever
After hearing this song here I went oout and bought the EP. Very nice.
Man, that's one infectious beat. Perfect song to listen to first thing in the morning after slowly driving to work in a snowstorm here in Michigan. Great track.
What a fun song! And this station is absolutely the bomb. I LOVE RP.... It is definitely my best find this year! Andi
just had to come on to say that the name of this group made me snort my tea when i read it.
True! It is quite hard to get songs added here, but with good reason. => artmarcia wrote:
Be happy--it got added and it's being played! :)
Wow, now this is nice.

It took about 4-5 months to get it added (with a 10/2 vote). Unfortunately 'All That I Want' was demoted to 'sorry' status after a 1/1 vote (not really a vote if you ask me). 'Vegas Baby' got 8/3 ('sorry'). I submitted 'Forgiven' by Deb Talan but that astonishingly got turned down after a measly 1/2 vote. =<

And here I was thinking I was the only one in the neighborhood who had been clued in to The Weepies! Good to hear them here. Would love to hear "All That I Want."
