May seem peculiar
How I think o'you
If you want me, darlin'
Here's what you must do
You gotta give me
'cause I can't give the best
Unless I got room to move
If you want me darlin'
Take me how you can
I'll be circulating
'cause that's the way I am
You gotta give me
'cause I can't give the best
Unless I got room to move

Didn't age so well. The lyrics for this and some of the others off this album were pretty laughably self-indulgent. "Artists got to be free mannn..."
Cute, but taken way too far.

I believe some of the negative comments come from those who maybe don't understand the blues. The really early, early blues. Just my opinion. John Mayall shows were amazing.
EXCELLENT album!
"There's no more Room to Move. That's all in the past." John Mayall
maybe they were high...
Well Then, maybe you take a look at this:

Ugh. Not this one.
Not good this morning - this following Pete Townsend's "Let My Love Open The Door" a few songs ago means I'm out of here for a while. Hopefully things will pick up a bit later on... In the meantime I'm switching to Spotify to check out further some artists I've heard here.
sounds like a crazy seinfeld fan.

Sublime.
Listen to Sonny Boy Williamson's "One Way Out".....John owes him big time for ripping off that song.
With that being said....John Mayall turned a N.J. suburbanite onto the blues(both British and American). Thanks John!

This is a very good album but this was never my favorite song from it. And, Mayall had a lot of jazz influence in his music. He introduced a lot of greats like Clapton to American audiences. Also had Peter Green playing with his group. His Blues Alone is a good one with one of my favorites of his, Broken Wing.
very annoying, definitely not his best
Love the harp, hate the voices :(
Seems like John Mayall doesn't connect today like he did when he was really popularizing alot of music that was being heard by most folks. The guitar rif in this tune is a classic. If you are a guitar player learning it and play as loud and fast as you can. You will feel good.
Sounds like a Simpsons episode. Worst episode ever...

Yeah. This sucks pretty bad. The scatting baloney is just painful.
Embarrasing, even. Sure ain't Satchmo, ok for white boy blues tho' perhaps a little contrived?

Not real big on the Bobby McFarrin-esque scatting.
Isn't this the song (or a close version of it) that the bimbo's on The Man Show jump on the trampoline to at the end of each episode?? LOL!!!
Can this be great party, dance music, AND make the hair stand on your back AND be Godlike?
I think so. -> 10
We likes.
Lame. John did great stuff - this ain't.
A sort of early human beatbox! Fantastic, creative fun. The sort of care-free spontaneity, that's lacking too much in today's pop-music.

Great stuff. Play more Mayall!
I had forgotten how much this song just ROCKS!!!
you need to follow this with Sean Hayes' "Alabama Chicken"
what a damn bizarre song.
Ahhhh, memories of seeing him, front row center at the Academy of Music in NYC. Got good and wasted at the bar across the street. Great show!
play it boy!
A 6.8 rating?! Come on, gang. "Room To Move" is way better than that!

This song always cracks me up because they used to play a jazz version of this song during some of those fast motion skits on Benny Hill so every time I hear it that's all I can think about
OK you're beyond all hope :)
First saw Mayall when he had one hell of a line-up in London (errrr 60's)and haven't been worse than mildly disappointed by anything he's done since.

This song gets a 7, up from a 5 b/c of the Chicken Art I see posted for it. That's cool.

I don't think JM ever hid the blues roots of his music. In fact he was one of the main spearheads for bringing knowledge of the real blues and blues musicians to the attention of the young British kids, and so sparking the so-called British Blues revival of the 60's
I am so pleased to have been around at that time. In my teens and going to see JM, Alexis Korner, Steam Packet, etc. etc. It taught me to catch the Blues tours that came along on the back of that revival and so see Sonny Boy, Muddy, and a long etc. live in the UK.
This one got me out of my chair to boogie baby!
what harmonica?....I dont hear a harmonica?
There are parts of this that remind me of Martin Short's Jackie Rogers Junior skit on SCTV. Ouch?

HA! It fits perfectly.
I have always thought this song was a bit too frenetic.
It's making me a little dizzy, but it's interesting.

Gah! For some reason, my coffee just made me all jittery today, starting a few minutes ago...about 1 minute before this song came on. It is definitely not helping, but just making me extra-jittery and anxious!
TEQUILA!
The tempo is a bit too frenetic. Sounds like they started their jam session with several rounds of espresso.

you can play this harp song in place of EVERY stinkin blues traveler song ever recorded and be doing the world a favor.

I have this record... i doesnt come out often... but damn its good.
And rappers think they invented human beat-boxing!
Wow, that John Mayer sure is eclectic.
...relax, it's just a joke.
OK... is it just me or does this guy sound like Kermit the frog?
Mayall at his best. Always loved his harp, but this is something else.
It's been at least 25 years since I've heard that ole favorite "Room to Move" Thanks Bill
Desktime boogie! :D
yeah man!
cha tickitita chickitita....cha tickitita chickitita...
Part of a great album, no drums on any song...breakout
That was really neat.
I consider myself an above average whistler. I can whistle this song in it's entirety. Some of my friends tell me they know what hell is like afterwords. Me, it's heavenly!
TGIF
Great stuff!!
It's time for CHAIRBOPPIN 101!
Saw this band - they played without a drummer - in Cardiff when my hair was as long as the girl I was with ... must have been '69 or so.
Great band great night.
Mayalls band was a springboard for some of the finest blues and rock musicians of our age.
The Dumbledore of Brit blues!
This just makes me want to hear some Tull. I didn't care for Mayall 30 years ago and I still don't.
Had front row center seats in the Academy of Music in NYC for John many moons ago. Surprised I still remember that night. They were great and did this song for a very long time. What a night!

I was wondering when RP would get around to playing some John Mayall. His early stuff is outstanding.
I think innovative songs like this are what RP is all about. Great choice!
Like it. I wonder if Bobby Mcferrin absorbed this before doing his "I'm My Own Walkman."
been years, sure is great to hear.
IMO the best Mayall song besides "California"
This song is just what I needed to cheer up a busy yet dull morning at work!
Thanks for playing it!
