The “Oh” sample comes from US comedian Andrew Dice Clay, that was released on Def Jam. The band therefore had to get hold of anyone in the Def Jam office to clear the sample. They were flown to Los Angeles to meet EMI.

If y'all don't know Andrew Dice Clay's humor, you may be a bit shocked, 😂 lol

Somehow, I ended up with a CD of his in the 90's that my wife, to this day, still won't let me play when she's around.

I remember singing this song when it came out in '91, over and over, as I was removing myself from an unpleasant situation.  I still find myself dancing to it as I recall getting out of that situation to something better.

It seems that those who like this are remembering enjoyable events where this was a soundtrack. However, is this a good piece of music? Not to me. When the standard is "I was high as a kite and yet can still remember the music that was playing", maybe the ratings should factor this in. I however don't see the merits of this piece.

Wiki has a portion on this: 

The name EMF is believed to be an acronym of Epsom Mad Funkers, a name taken from a fan club of the band New Order.[2]

The song "Head the Ball", which featured on the remix single release of "Lies," featured the repeating lines "electromotive force" and "ecstasy mother fucker". Same here...I'm this close to going 8→9...and while I wasn't in the Gulf War in '91, I was a freshman in HS and this was FOR SURE one of the few non-Rap tracks I liked back then.  I think the date issue comes up though because it was released as a single only back then....maybe it was re-released on the album in 2000.  Still...I say Long Live RP!!
