I recently saw Turin Brakes live, playing the whole Ethersong  album in its entirety to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Excellent band, still as good as ever.

What a revolting image.  I can understand the colloquialism "blows my mind", but extending that to "blows my brains out" is a bit to far for me.  It's hard to not imagine it literally... perhaps I have seen too many episodes of CSI.

I remember being captivated by this unusual, but well crafted little song, with its slightly baffling lyrics, back in 2006, around the time they were performing here in Brighton. Btw they don't sound like anyone but Turin Brakes, it's a stubbornly individual sound.

The musical equivalent of a good street hot dog with onions & mustard & maybe a (cheap) beer on a summer afternoon when you're hungry & your defenses are way down. And you know it's really not very good, but it's just so damn tasty and then there just happen to be some crispy onions in the mix that are EXACTLY the way you like them (and there are several crispy onions in this mix!) and all of a sudden it's a really...great...hot dog. And as a cyclist, I like the cycle on your bicycle thingee too.
