"I leave in the morning, I don't wanna go"
I said to the teller "If this is the future,
I don't wanna know I don't wanna know"
"Fives and tens" said the guy behind the bar
"Twenty-five says he don't"
You cut a nice figure of a family
I don't know I don't know
I have a fear of flying
I think I have a fear of him
I'm afraid of meaning
Nothing again
After all this is over
This is over after all
We cut a nice figure of a family
I don't know I don't know
Can I be stupid for a minute?
I was looking at that half-empty glass
Waiting for the waiter
You don't have to listen to this
Tell me what to say

Killer album overall. If you are remotely a fan and do not have this - highly recommended.
Kristin and Tanya and the language of dreams
Kristin Hersh!!!
There's always Plenty of room for more Throwing Muses !!!!!!!!!!

Thought we were about to hear "Theme From an Imaginary Western" by Mountain.
Enjoying this a lot.

Love Kristin. I used to be a DJ at a small public radio station, and I played a lot of the Muses. Got to spend some time with her once. Fascinating woman.

Agreed.
Now, this is my kinda girl.
I remember playing around with a Shockwave (pre-Flash) promotional something or other for this album I probably got off AOL. It had simple interactive animations that would play a short distorted as hell loop of various songs from the album. It was awesome. I picked up the album and it was a major part of my regular listening that year. Even got to see them on this albums tour at the tiny Backdoor at SDSU. It was an intimate and incredible show. That's my Throwing Muse story. The end.
¸yay, got this as PSD gift after Lana Del Rey!
Good stuff. I believe the lead singer is bi polar which has probably benefited and cursed them.

Both Kirsten and Tanya are now far too old for me... hah!
How you like them apples, self from a gazillion years ago? In your face youthful longing.

There was an inspired and utterly unpredictable band in Boulder in the mid '80s called Electric Third Rail -- the singer was a staggeringly wild gal named George, and they played the most awesome gigs... I can't get over how much this reminds me of them and those days...
SUCH a great album. If you like TM and don't have this - get it now! ;-) ...apparently I feel passionate, having mentioned this last year too!!!
I like how this moves about like a warped record.
Robotic
1995? I thought their heyday was 1988-1990. Where's that catalog? Give it up...
Likewise here. Once again, a band that's been around awhile, but never heard of them till RP.

Classic TM! One of their best albums IMHO. a must have album if you liked this tune. Could certainly use more TM on RP!!!

Throwing Muses is an alternative rockband formed in 1981 in Newport, Rhode Island, that toured and recorded extensively until 1997, when its members began concentrating more on other projects. The group was originally fronted by two lead singers, Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, two singers that I appreciate very, who both wrote the group's songs. Members are: Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo, Bernard Georges. Tanya Donelly, Leslie Langston. Fred Abong. Elaine Adamedes, Becca Blumen.
Personally, I love the Muses. Crazy is often interesting (and not necessarily in the 'train wreck' sense). If you like the Muses but haven't explored them much, you might also want to check out Kristen Hersh's solo work.
Rock out!
GREAT!
love this!

Sounds like Orchards & Vines.
I like her voice, strong, not timid, not whispering, out there.
