Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue birds singing a song
Nothing but blue skies from now on
I never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly by
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on
Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on
Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on
Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on
Got this classic album when it first came out. For those of you in the 70+ age group such as myself, the old standards hold a special place in our memories and we still perk up when one is played.
I was first exposed to them as a young child with my father playing them on his home-built amp and speaker system. He was into radio from it's earliest days and even built a "magic box" that created synthetic stereo even before stereo became popular by phase shifting certain frequencies in the speaker system. He later qualified as one of the highest electronic engineers in Florida.
Great reminiscence (to someone like me who's turning 70 in just over a month). Thanks!

Great story!
But Willis gets a 7 so it stays in my rotation
And he has more than enough to pass around.
So how did this drugged out lazy hippy manage to stay so active (and so healthy) all these years? From the wikipage:
During his childhood, Nelson grew interested in martial arts. He ordered self-defense manuals on jujitsu and judo that he saw advertised in Batman and Superman comic books. Nelson started to formally practice kung fu after he moved to Nashville, in the 1960s.[186] During the 1980s, Nelson began training in taekwondo and now holds a second-degree black belt in that discipline.[187] During the 1990s, Nelson started to practice the Korean martial art GongKwon Yusul.[188] In 2014, after twenty years in the discipline, his Grand Master Sam Um presented him with a fifth-degree black belt in a ceremony held in Austin, Texas.[189] A 2014 Tae Kwon Do Times magazine interview revealed that Nelson had developed an unorthodox manner of training during the lengthy periods of time he was on tour. Nelson would conduct his martial arts training on his tour bus "The Honeysuckle Rose" and send videos to his supervising Master for review and critique.[190]
Well this thing just played 4 days ago. C'mon! Of all the music across the entirety of space and time, how does this horrid little gem crop up twice in only 4 days? Please make it stop.
How horrible !

I find if you listen on different devices, you'll get the songs repeating more.
why does this song make me sad? It's not supposed to, right?
Sorry you had to wait 16 years for this reply, but it's probably because the song is in a minor key.
I'm not sure if it's use in the musical play it came from was sarcastic or ironic, but you aren't the only one who picks up on the sad feeling of the notes, even though the lyrics seem happy.
And time to refresh things.
Replace with anything from TEATRO.
RP is good but it is also repetitious.
Willie is an icon and deserves better representation.
Blue days all of them gone
Nothin' but blue skies from now on
In the mid 70's, the legislature voted to make him the King of Texas.
I don't think these are the correct lyrics to this song, thoug
Fixed.
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you, let it be me
Don't take this heaven from one
If you must cling to someone
Now and forever, let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always---let--it'be--me

Lukas Nelson is carving out a name for himself, he's the real deal.
c.
Lukas is for SURE the man! And on another topic, I'm going 8→9 on this gem of a standard/pop song. Long Live RP!!

And THAT is a good thing.
But the good thing is, even at the end of their remarkable careers, some greats like him are still touring around the world, even some years ago in a totally unexpected and obscure venue like Seignosse-le-Penon in the South-West of France (I guess the closest equivalent in Texas would be Matagorda or Turtle Bayou). It proves how humble, sincere and generous such artists of his generation remain.
nice response, eveliko!! Willie Nelson should be revered in the US, and I for one say Long Live Willie and RP!!

from Rolling Stone:
"Little Dealer Boy" made its prime-time debut as part of A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!, a Comedy Central TV special that aired in November 2008, just four days shy of Thanksgiving.

I'm a younger fan. His warm voice coupled with sincerity has always me pay attention and listen!
