Happy New Year everyone. By midnight on the right coast it was -9 degrees in my little town north of the White Mountains. Auld Lang Syne sounds good right now. A little different than Guy Lombardo used to do it and yup, I'm an old fart.
Happy 2018 everyone! Here's to a good year to come.
So, not the Beach Boys' version this time around.
One of the things I really love about Radio Paradise is the occasional 'curve ball'.
This tune caught the edge of the plate for me.... politely insisting that I take the moment to reflect on this and that.
Not a bad thing to do.... anytime of year.

Wow. Bad like few other tracks I've heard on RP. Why?
Does this sound like Pearl Jam to anyone but me?
I prefer his work on this album.
There are types of songs and, within those types, certain songs that especially do not (as far as my ears tell me) really translate to the instrumental mix of electric guitar, bass, and drums. And this appears to fit the bill. One could note that as a cover, it does not improve on the original recording, but such does not exist. It still does not improve.
Happy New Year everyone.... Oh, wait....
Damn...I know 2015 has been crappy so far, but I ain't ready to give up on the next 10 months just yet.

Totally agree. After the promising first few seconds it was all downhill.
First, it sounds like Jimi. Then it sounds like a very straight rendition of the traditional song. I wish it kept sounding like Jimi. But alas. Oh well, happy New Year everyone.

Hmm. Ok I'm a bit confused. Auld Lang Syne on March 4th? I do appreciate this following Counting Crows' Long December, but I think the seasonal joke is, well... unseasonal?
Not for me!
Seriously. ..why?
Ya never know what you are gonna get on this station!
Someone buy Bill a calendar. Its Feb 1st. What next ? Christmas carols. There are millions of tracks out there get a bit more creative than this.
Nice rendition.
Happy 2015!
2015 still sounds like it is in the future.

Lazarus recording here! No, not the green ink guy.
Thanks, Bill.
Heehee ! I know it's already 2015 somewhere in the world but here on the left coast it's only 6pm!
But let's get in the mood, shall we and open a bottle of bubbly!
take care, everyone and happy new year!
Thanks Bill and Rebecca for doing what you do!

Very appropriate. Thanks for the eclectic spin.
