Trouble won't find me
Sorrow won't call
Sadness will turn away
Searching for a new soul
Hardship won't come by
All pain will cease
Somebody will take my place
And suffer for me
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun
If no love will comfort me
If no kind words come
To offer hope or peace
When I have fallen
If I be a stranger
Friend of no one
I'll gladly take my place
In the world beyond
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun
If I lay down and wake to see
The bright light of the morn
Rise up every day
To blind beat and burn
Show me no mercy
For need or want
Let somebody take my place
When the new day dawns
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun
Sorrow won't call
Sadness will turn away
Searching for a new soul
Hardship won't come by
All pain will cease
Somebody will take my place
And suffer for me
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun
If no love will comfort me
If no kind words come
To offer hope or peace
When I have fallen
If I be a stranger
Friend of no one
I'll gladly take my place
In the world beyond
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun
If I lay down and wake to see
The bright light of the morn
Rise up every day
To blind beat and burn
Show me no mercy
For need or want
Let somebody take my place
When the new day dawns
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
If I never see another sun
Another sun another sun

I love Tracy Chapman. She is weaker here, I think, than other songs she has done, but I've never heard her do ANYTHING I didn't rate below 5 and many are 8 or 9, imho.
Once again, Tracy's vocal work and arrangement stabs you right in the heart. Very decent track.

No offense but she looks nothing like Joan Armourplating!
Thought it was Joan Armatrading for a minute-at a closer look it's Tracy....lik-ing this!

Nice. I usually find Tracy's work monotonous, but this is pleasant.
Four years since the last comment, and I have to disagree with the last two. I think this is the best I've heard from her in a while.

I know Buffy.. I like both.

I have some bizarre memories of an event Tracy Chapman performed at and to this day I cannot hear her voice without being turned off.
I just don\'t get most of Tracy Chapmans stuff. Occasionally she will produce a gem, but most of it seems so repetitive. This song is a prime example. Play Mountain of Things, Bill
I like Tracy Chapman, but this song is so repetitive and tedious. Really grates on me.

If I never hear that again, I will be a bit happier. Yes, it is Buffy-like, and that may be why I can\'t even listen to the lyrics.
