It always has. And the closest we'll come to one, is by remaining AMERICA.
Good song.
Thanx 'Cat', and . . . . . .  You're Welcome.

Sing it Artist Boy!!!

The USA ended it's longest ever war (20+ years in Afghanistan) in ignominious failure ... just like the Vietnam debacle

UPDATE: MARCH 2022:
Hasn't aged well - there is a nuclear armed dictator waging a land war at Europe's door.

Since when should a radio station take one's political and religious beliefs into consideration when playing an artist's music, except when a given song is openly attacking one specific person or group? Should station producers hold up the flag of christianity and the american form of democracy and capitalism? Really now, it is a song, nothing more. Let it remain a song and if you personally don't like it then change the station. Don't assume that a producer has any responsibility to uphold the ideals that you think should be upheld because you have been socialized in the specific manner in which you have been socialized.
How sad that these comments are, not entirely because of the xenophobia but also for not taking the time to realize that Yusuf is a Sufi. Sufis are the most loving, peaceful branch of Islam; in a way, they are the counterbalance to the radical elements of Islam. How ignorance procreates hate is a world problem; too bad that the above commenters have joined this branch of humanity.

Cat Stevens, or Yusuf Islam, as he prefers to call himself, has done a lot more for world peace than most of us.
Wiki says: He has received two honorary doctorates and awards for promoting peace from two organisations founded by Mikhail Gorbachev.

He endorsed killing a man. For religious reasons. Period.
This world needs a peace train now more than ever

I had to finally sign up just to say there couldn\'t have been a better song for today.
