Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
10/10 for this on musical merits alone. 11/10 for Neil being generally awesome.
Can't listen to this guy anymore now that I know about his real nature
What nature is that?
Damn....i can't find this on spotify anywheres. what's up with that?
He didn't want to be in the same "room" as Joe Rogan ;)

Thank God!
I would argue that Neil Young is a miles-better human than musician.
I take it you can play guitar and harmonica simultaneously too.
Music good - just not sure about the human

I was listening to this concert on cassette (recorded off the radio in 1993) not 10 minutes ago! RP and I are in sync!!!
Those who clap, cheer and whistle mid-way through a live performance should be taken outside and shot.
For me it's not the applause during the song that is annoying as $#%@!, but when they talk incessantly during a concert. Just STFU!
Went to journalism school in London, Ontario, with Neil's first cousin, who said Neil was due to play in Toronto early in 1987 and did I want to go to the concert. Duh. I was with my bud and his uncle, Neil's dad, and Neil's wife Pegi and the rest of the family at the concert with an ALL AREAS pass . Got great pix at stagefront. After the concert, I hung with Neil and his family at the Four Seasons hotel. Neil took the time to reconnect with each family member on their level--and there quite a few of them--and even gave me 5 minutes to interview him, which I used for a paper at J school on differential affliction in cerebral palsy. Teacher accused me of making up Neil's quotes--then I showed him the photos I took.
Great story!
You are the expert on whining, after all.
As usual your comments on Neil are laughably off-base.
Oh good one. You hurt my feeling.
this is literally the only Neil Young song I like. I have told my husband that if I die first and he wants me to haunt him, he should play Neil Young at my funeral - that is how much I despite NY. But this song is magic.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one. There's maybe another one or two I can take but his voice! Hard to handle.

he said Young's songs were depressing and it was one of the reasons he stopped listening to music all together
really, just stopped? wtf?
Blues make me happy. I don't understand it. It just does. Stop listening? Stop living.
Really? You must be Young... wont finish that thought! I've seen him live many times... ALWAYS left with a smile! I listen to and play Neil Young on my acoustic 6 and 12! His drive playing electric inspired me to get a Les Paul by Epiphone...Beautiful song... Love Neil!
Uh, no. I meant exactly what I wrote. It's his only good song. His painful whine actually fits here.

Thanks for sharing that memory.
Ditto

Anytime. Sometimes the truth is funny.
I think you meant to write "His only good song that year. " Even then...

.....Same here!
In my opinion, the MTV Unplugged performance was one of his very best. Beautiful smooth versions like this, unusual instruments like a pump organ (watch him peddle on Like a Hurricane, and even a broom mic'ed up on Harvest Moon). Great support musicians and vocalists added with the perfect touch. Wonderful performance I highly recommend!

RIGHT??
"His only good song". Thanks for the laugh!
Ed Sullivan Theatre, NYC 1992. Shortly before David Letterman took over the theatre.
I will never forget that performance either. Just him on a folding chair, surrounded by guitars. Stunning.
I bought the CD and was disappointed with the studio version. Oh well.
c.
give this tune a rest - seems like I hear it every two days in some form, album version, live version, or am i just hallucinating from all the weed i can get legally now?
I love Neil's work for the most part, but his crooning moments sometimes teeter on the edge of silliness:
Especially on a lovely song like this, which is so atypical of the author of Like a Hurricane, Throw Your Hatred Down, etc.

That's RP for you! Certainly educating these old baggy ears.
Well, I guess life is really more complex than a song.
(hmpht!)
Integrity of the song. He's good at that.
If you are a Neil Young fan his book Waging Heavy Peace is quite an interesting read.

You're welcome.

but then again, I have a really, really hard time saying which NY song is my fav - all depends on my mood at the moment
I'll second that.
And I especially love this live rendition of one of those songs - first time I've ever heard it.
Thanks for the variety RP!

Let me guess....you have a "let's go Brandon" sticker on the back of your F150.
