Never heard of this guy before. I like the guitar and the lyrics are interesting, but overall a bit depressing. I would like to hear some more upbeat songs of his.

Really glad to hear this again.
It's been 11 years since the last play?

You've got to be kidding - this is not a song it's tuneless, dreary chant. I stopped what I was doing at the other end of the building to come over to a computer, log in, and say this is the worst thing I have ever heard on RP. Ruined my afternoon; this is *not* good karma.
why?

Sort of like Johnny Cash\'s lyrically oriented nephew. An excellent piece of legendary Western imagery.
Great stuff, classic \"Lonesome Dove\" songwriting.

Never heard of this fella, but I dig it. I like story songs when they\'re good, and sometimes even if they\'re cheesy (the old ballad about the West Texas Town of El Paso comes to mind... I can\'t remember the official title, but Bill probably knows what I mean). More material by Tom Russell will be welcomed. Where\'s he from?
