Sail on a southbound train
Move up and peer inside
Creole tongue hard to understand
Move up and peer inside

Hip hop on a down town train
Mojo lord is in my veins
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo
Black wing bird up in the tree
Dead mans song that he sings for me
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo

Six foot tall a big long drink
Cajun lips hot and spicy to kiss

Hip hop on a down town train
Mojo lord is in my veins
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo
Black wing bird up in the tree
Dead mans song that he sings for me
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo

Royal Blue Avenue
Gold lame
Platform shoes

Hip hop on a down town train
Mojo lord is in my veins
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo
Black wing bird up in the tree
Dead mans song that he sings for me
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo

She undressed by candle light
Incense sweet perfume
Her Creole tongue was hard for me to understand
Incense, sweat, anyhow

Hip hop on a down town train
Mojo lord is in my veins
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo
Black wing bird up in the tree
Dead mans song that he sings for me
Burn the fat and play that Voodoo Banjo

This is an insult to banjo players. Sounds like what happens when a guitar player picks up a banjo in a music store.... Barf.

This comment from over 20 years ago is proof that people have been mad online since the internet became a thing.
Holy smokes!

I thought it was Mick J. exploring new songs.

Pretty cool.

That would be a fun set to resurrect!
So now I'm singing all afternoon about a voodoo mango....
thought about this for at least four minutes and I still don't know if I like what I hear or if I find it a bit of an irritation. I really don't....
I love this group & this album in particular. Fun note: the CD case is made from hemp.
Wow.  Really nice.
I have been trying to see these guys live for years. I hope for the opportunity soon.
i'd like to see this live
Nice pairing with Voodoo Cadillac by Southern Culture on the Skids! brighthue wrote:

HALLOWEEN APPLES !!!!
my fiance' would appreciate this.
Niiice.
Like it...I'm a sucker for a good story song! It would be great to hear Grant Lee Buffalo's Dixie Drug Store following this, Bill.
It's the banana voodoo set!

All kinds of voodoo goin on in here!
yeha!
best way to say it: B-OWN-p-owny drawled out with a hick surfer accent.
look ma! I got uh banjo!
I like it when musicians go do the voodoo that they do so well.
Don't like this song, but bonus points for band name...
I wouldn\'t mind if this one left the rotation..
Find this so boring...
Fun tune - a real toe-tapper. Sure it doesn\'t provide much for banjo purists, but it all hangs together for me.
How about some Bela Fleck if we\'re gonna talk banjo?
Some people get waaaaay too serious about music! This track was used in a truck commercial down here in Louisiana, and hearing the whole thing, I think it\'s a lot better than the bits they used for the spot. Nice little jam to get the feet tapping and the fingers typing faster.

Could surely do without it too, though it's nice to have some plain, fun music kicked in, every now and then. (Considering that RP's funniest song is about Voodoo, :p)
Nice way to perk up at work. Thanks. :)

Very interesting combo. It works for me nicely! ;)
You don\'t hear banjo, electric bass and drums together very often. This seems to work well.
That was refreshing!
