There is no way that the Stones were regarded as dated in 1978.  They were at the top of their game.  Mick didn't "try" to be provocative.  He was provocative.

Yuck, those lyrics are really gross and inappropriate - '...black girls just want to get *** all night and I dont have that much jam" eaughhhh!!!

and to think I just finished reading Keith Richards autobiography and found him really good.  Jagger must have written this.....

This is a very good album and should receive more aclaim. First Ronnie Wood album?

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Rolling Stones record! Forever pulls me back to the long hot summer of '78; Sixteen, not a care in the world, killer weed, and a cool night job at a little Japanese restaurant that gave me gas money, booze, FUN, and a family way better than my real one!
