I posted a few years back that Ludovico Einaudi was perfect music for quiet time gazing out the window as the snow came down blanketing the world outside. Well, it snowed yestrday and a bit again today and I'm gazing out the window and the music is perfect. Thanks RP!

This reminds me of being on night trains, sitting in the restaurant car as the lights whizz by outside. 

Einaudi has released a series of albums inspired by mountain walks, highly evocative to me as a hillwalker. Some of his best work IMO.

Einaudi provided about half the music for the French movie Intouchables. It's mixed in with R&B from Earth, Wind and Fire, Nina Simone, and Terry Callier. The movie and soundtrack are both awesome.

I was deeply moved by seeing the live show, however the recording is pretty flat unfortunately.
Bought the CD and gifted it to my audiophile friend. The sound on his HiFi system was very disappointing. 
Don't understand why they haven't tried harder with this since the music begs for a quality recording.

I see your metaphor and raise you, Cynaera. I would compare "the classics" to a beautiful and ornate cathedral or palace from that era, with beautiful and interesting things to see wherever the eye lands. LE's stuff to my ear sounds like a gray, monolithic, soulless,  office building somewhere in the suburbs. Repetitive, featureless, all the life squeezed out of it. Modern? Yes. An advance? Far from it. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that 90% of the musicians on this record loathe the music they are playing.

I finally bought the CD.  It's in my Sidekick, although I haven't listened to it yet because I have 9 other CDS (two of which are Rachael Yamagata's "Elephants" CDs) by which to be surprised.  If all we ever listened to were "the classics," we'd never have broader horizons, better comprehension, more appreciation for what musicians are doing today.  The Mig's humble beginning was with the Wright Brothers. Edit: I'm fully willing to admit that I'm completely missing the point and simply don't understand what Mr. Einaudi is trying to accomplish. But regardless, this isn't rocking enough for me to not care about its lack of class or intellectual stimulation, and it's not classy or intellectual enough for me to care about it not rocking. Perhaps those who aren't diggin' this just need to pretend that they have actual control of their own hectic lives for a moment, stop what they're doing, close their eyes, take a deep breath and CHILLAX.  While there are few times in any adult's typical day where this type of music really fits perfectly, maybe those times should be cherished, rather than avoided. We can all use a little more peace, no?

I saw him last weekend in Bloemendaal (The Netherlands) in an open air concert.
As usual in Holland we got a big thundercloud and lots of rain{#Umbrella}. So the concert was cancelled.
