I like what someone else suggested: a mocking tone. Trump has shown that he's incapable of resisting an insult, no matter how inane the comeback. "No puppet. You're the puppet!"

So, I would think that a Biden who's above it all, possibly focusing on how much Trump has failed and mocking him for his incompetence - without bothering to respond to the inevitable attacks on Biden's health, brain, Hunter. Why respond or defend against that while on stage?

Continue, at all times, to insult him and his daughter and his son-in-law about how bad a job they've done. (Biden's kid is not part of his office; Trump has hired his daughter and SIL and that makes them fair game, whereas Baron is absolutely not.)

BUT HER EMAILS!

US intel referred Clinton campaign to FBI, alleging it concocted Russia collusion story

US. intelligence developed evidence from Russia in summer 2016 that Hillary Clinton had personally approved a plan to concoct the Russia collusion narrative in an effort to harm Donald Trump and distract from her email scandal, according to an explosive document made public Tuesday by the Director of National Intelligence.

And:

LOCK HER UP. And lock up Brennan and Comey too.

Sure, none of which is illegal.

And we are suckers. We let Congress get away with this.

So yes, there's a lot ——A LOT—— of tax avoidance going on and sure it's legal if skeevy. But there's also going to be lots of tax evasion too. So the people whose metric for president is "is it legal?" are going to have to find a way to lower their bar again.

Doubt it. The IRS has been auditing him since 2011. If a dodge like that didn't sneak past the law (and admittedly having massive legal firepower and political pull at your beck & call makes things legal that us mere mortals get hung out to dry for) they'd have burned him for it long ago.

Getting away with something means it was legal...at least for you. Ask Hillary.

This release will change (round numbers here) approximately zero minds. If you hated him before you hate him now. If you saw him as a heroic warrior battling an entrenched partisan media oligarchy you still do. That Donald Trump pays as little in taxes as humanly possible is not a surprise, and if you're looking for a villain here I've got one: the US Congress.

The tax code is absurdly complex because Congress can't stop using it as a tool to manipulate people into behaving as they would like. They simultaneously recognize that taxes are incentives to change behavior and refuse to recognize that taxes cause people to change behaviors. The dodges Trump used were written into law by the very people angry at him for using them. Surprise! When you plant a briar patch Br'er Rabbit will hide in it.

*To tax data, not the actual returns, which means it came from inside some government agency, which is supposed to hold such information confidential. I know this doesn't bother you, but it should.

IMO the most important thing for Biden to remember in the debate tonight is;  don't get down into the gutter with Trump because that's where he will try to take you.

2004: $234,271 2011: $379,035 2018: $4,580,437

It took our steely friend what, ten minutes? to find this information. Sure, 'income' is just one data point, but the fact it's readily available is telling.
DJT's 'accounting' is so convoluted - by design - it's impossible to determine what belongs where. Unless you're Trump, who knows where it belongs:HIS pockets.

And it is reported that Biden paid 3 million on his latest return which begs the question; how rich is he to where he has to pay more taxes in one year than most of us make in 50 lifetimes as a career politician.  Where did it come from?

Edit:  As long as the IRS is good with it ergo being legal, then it is none of our business or concern what any politicians tax return looks like UNLESS you are running as a Socialist.  Then yea, I want to know if you used any loopholes because you are campaigning to increase everyone's tax burden as a societal duty so you best be paying your own taxes proper.
