I just dropped $180 for two after fees and bullshit were added.

As I've said before Cubs ticket pricing has always been a riddle wraped in a mystery shrouded by an enigma.  There is no real pattern to it that I've ever been able to discern.  Opening Day is always pricey,  Cards and White Sox almost always are, other than that it's anybody's guess.  2016 was the last year they let me print my own tickets and they're still on my computer.  I found one for a Pirates game that was $26 plus fees and bullshit.  A Cards game was $65 the same year and there were likely some that were more I didn't look too close the game is on.

Your secret is safe with me.  I won't even make you buy me a beer to keep me quiet.  Back in the old days they actually were the cheep seats and sold out for most games for the entire season the first week tickets went on sale.  It really did take them a long time to figure out how high the demand was and what they could actually get for them.   As far as arrival time goes the earlier the better.  If you get there just before the gates open there is a line that extends the whole block, but it only takes twenty minutes or so for it to go away.  It's a four hour car trip for me so we rarely get there that early.   It's usually around 11:30 to noon when we get there.  Cardinal games do tend to fill up a little faster than normal.  Getting there for batting practice is also a good way to get home run balls that you don't have to throw back.  I actually have a White Sox one because no decent parent is going to bring a child to the bleachers for one of those games.  Cardinal fans are surprisingly well behaved in comparison.  Glad you're going to make it.  See you Friday.

It's probably literally a once in a lifetime thing, so hey. Ke$ha is coming to the MontanaState Fair and that would cost more, but still.

How early do I really have to get there? If we enter the stadium at noon, will it be SRO out there?

Clearly marked non-Cubs fans keeping visitor homers is not an actual violation of bleacher etiquette however it usually elicits a left/right field sucks chant.   If they're still doing assigned seating in the bleachers though who knows.  There's apt to be a whole lot of disoriented fans.

At least before covid that was the case.  I'm guessing it still is.  They didn't let non bleacher types into the bleachers though and they rescan your ticket coming and going.  It could be a liability thing or perhaps Ricketts wanted to make sure we could get to all the new places to spend money that came in with the renovation.  They are only doing mobile tickets this year and if everyone doesn't have their own phone there can be problems.  As I posted a couple of years ago it caused them to actually eject Woo Woo.

I'm shooting for Friday. If I get bleacher tickets, I can't walk around the rest of the park, right?

Everyone. I'm sure no one on the team even thought this was going to be the conversation we'd be having right now. I think the 30% above normal injury list leaguewide is messing with all predictions. It helps to have Buster hitting though; it's hard to have a guy be a team leader when he's playing hurt. Surgery 2019 and took all of 2020 off... we think he feels good for the first time in years.

Did you see that tix go on sale tomorrow? Gonna be mayhem, I think.

Cubs games are going to full capacity on June 11—the game I'm trying for. I probably have a fair shot at tickets but it feels like trying for concert tickets...

Edit: Tix go on sale at 2pm CDT tomorrow.

Speaking of wheels falling off at Chavez Ravine I really wish I could have been there last night.  It's been my observation that a great number of Dodgers fans don't bother to show up till the third inning or so.  Seeing them get just what they deserve might have been even more fun than watching the travails of the poor little redbirds.
