What's this about The Series being played in Texas?
I think they went with a "neutral site" plan to minimize plane travel and keep the players in a "bubble" for the duration of the series. Playoffs are the same way. I saw someone lamenting that both Chicago teams could make the Series but there wouldn't be any home games.

There's a group of Phillies fans that gather outside the stadium to watch the home games through a gate and cheer on the Phillies. They have air horns and a drumline and make a lot of noise. The Yankees complained they were distracting. They call themselves The Phandemic Krew. they sell t-shirts and other merch to raise money for Phillies Charities. So far, they've raised over $11,000. Here they are behind the Phillie Fan cut-outs—which is also awesome. I think the entire 1st level and part of the 2nd is full Management have decided to make a Phandemic Krew Bobblehead in appreciation for all they've done.

In one of those can't-really-compare-different-eras questions, I always wondered how he'd do as a base stealer today. When he was playing, the pitcher was allowed to do a lot more trickery, and I think balks weren't the knee-twitch-squint that they are now. I think he'd do well. And back then, in the NL, stealing wasn't as revered as it came to be during Rickey's tenure, so I think he'd have stolen more in the 80s.
I was always a Rickey fan, though, so Lou came to be sort of a caricature of "the guy to beat." Hit for average, not just singles. Would have been exciting to see.
I'm a Phillies fan, but on my desk sits the baseball Mr. Seaver threw the pitch before his 1,000th strikeout. Willie Montanez hit it (foul) to my father, before missing the next one.
My first and only foul ball at my first baseball game, June 29, 1971. Who knew it would take 5+ decades to get another (including several seasons of tickets)? RIP Mr. Seaver.
That's sad, what a terrible disease. He was a great for sure - a class act and a gentleman and beloved in NY and beyond. I'm glad I got to see him pitch a few times.
