That must be great for Carl, although he's too wound up about Mike's debut at Fenway to watch the game in person. But it definitely has been a sorry season for the Sox. 
 
I assume Carl ducked out before the game started (like he said he would) but the kid did good.

Ooh, you don't see that very often. I guess he got tangled up with the catcher but I couldn't tell.

I just watched the last 4 innings of the no-hitter and I get the superstition, I really do understand it and it's fun. Unless your announcers are pieces of wood to begin with. I'm sorry, Houston, but those guys played it so cool you wouldn't know anything was happening. Even the home run call was ho hum until it actually went out, then it was HOLY SHIT we should act excited. Bottom of the 9th they finally started talking about it. The Giants announcers respect the tradition but they at least play it like we all would if we were watching a game together. Talk about it, don't mention it.
