Every band I've ever been in I ended up being a multi-instrument player (guitar, bass, keys, singer, whatever), the band manager, producer, rehearsals at my house, found our gigs, got us advertised in the local rags, etc. I high percentage of players just want to show up and play and not be bothered with all that stuff. Unless you can afford to hire a manager, somebody has to do it.

Yeah, musicians are not usually interested in organizational, marketing and financial issues. Those that make it to the top and are at the same skilled in these areas? Rare.

He often sits in with bands & has been in them, being an extremely talented & innovative musician as a percussionist, harp player, singer, and other things. If he hadn't moved & left me stranded in Colorado, we'd likely have a band & be performing.
