Yeah, I thought I ought give you guys a chance this year and just stay home. Besides I've seen the Giants 8 times the last two years and I need to rest up to be ready for the Cardinals when they come to town the weekend after next.
I've only seen the Cards 10 times in the last two years.
'preciate it.
Speaking of the Cards, Dexter's doing pretty well but nothing like what he's done in the past, especially last year. So
So I guess you didn't go? Or you just got there late?

I wouldn't want to jinx them for today's game or anything, but this was a good time for them to do it. You might not want me to go though. You've probably put it out of your mind by now, but in the eight games I went to last year and in 2015 the Cubs went 7 - 1.

Well, we can't do much worse than that, so
I see tomorrow's game is a national broadcast with Costas et al, so I might go to my Dad's and watch with him. He'll root for whoever hits a homer, which is uncomfortable, but you can at least raise a toast to BuzzFromWyoming if the Cubs hit one out.
You should go just to thank the Giants for getting off the mat.

Same here. First time i heard of it. Reminds of the NHL Edmonton Oilers during the Gretzky years. They were such a speedy team that playing 4-on-4 was like a power play for them. So they tweaked the rules and off-setting penalties often resulted with the continuity 5-on-5 play.
And yes, the designated hitter sucks.
Yeah, I can imaging the Oilers back then trying to figure out how to play 2 on 2.
As things stand now when the Giants come to Wrigley this Monday it will be the first regular season game they have played there that I have not attended since 2014. Part of me wants to turn around and go back to do the whole series again this year just to keep the streak going, but then I would be under even more pressure to keep doing it in the future. It might become an addiction. I did look. Tickets are still available for the whole series.

I was unaware they had ever done that. That is almost as stupid as the designated hitter. At least they had the good sense to go back to playing baseball and never speak of it again after just one season unlike that other sacrilege.

Picked up this used book today, "The Biographical History of Baseball". I opened it and read this as I debated buying yet another baseball book:
"MATT KILROY: In his rookie season of 1886, Kilroy established an all-but-invulnerable record by striking out 513 batters for the American Association Baltimore Orioles. The next year, with the number of strikes for an out raised from three to four, his total dropped to 217, but he established a second major league record: 46 wins by a left-handed pitcher."
I debated no more.
