Jagmeet Singh is probably a very comfortable anti-native racist (perhaps like most recent immigrants from the Punjab?).  That and he heads the New Democratic Populist party.....

Unfortunately, the Trump approach to policy is very popular with trendy populist lefties in Canada.

The Manitoba Canadian Forces reservist who was arrested following an armed break-in on the grounds of Rideau Hall appears to have posted on social media about the “Q” conspiracy movement and its theories about the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was surprised they hadn't already. Actually I'm in agreement with the 2A types that there is little significant difference from other semi-automatic rifles. They all should be banned. If you can't take down an elk with your bolt action, you shouldn't take the shot.

I appreciate that you at least make a fact based argument and I agree with part of this, but when you say they all should be banned are you talking about semi auto rifles or all guns period?
I actually have no issue with banning semi auto rifles if that makes people feel better.   I think it is silly and pure emotion based law, but when you start saying all guns or even including hand guns, we're gonna have a problem.

I was referring to semi-automatic rifles.  And you can probably guess I'm in favour of strong controls on other weapons. Hand guns? I guess we have a problem

COVID-19 Carelessness: Which Canadians say pandemic threat is ‘overblown’? And how are they behaving in turn?
Those who say the attention and worry around COVID-19 is undue are less likely to be staying away from others, from public spaces, or to be regularly washing their hands.
  • Those who say the threat of COVID-19 is overblown are less concerned about personally contracting the virus or it happening to someone in their household than those who say the threat is serious
  • Political partisanship correlates with opinion on the seriousness of the pandemic: those unconvinced are far more likely to have voted for the CPC in the 2019 federal election
