The following fix works for me. I have 2 Echo Dot 4 ("Bed Right" and "Bed Left") in the bedroom that are paired as "Bedroom".
1. In the Alexa app, add a routine:
Name: "Play the radio" (or whatever you prefer) When: (Voice) "Play the radio" (or whatever you prefer) Action: (Custom) "Enable Radio Paradise Skill" From: "Bed Right"
2. Now ask "Alexa, play the radio"
3. Alexa responds "OK, here's Radio Paradise" from the "Bed Right" speaker, and Radio Paradise should now play from the "Bed Right" speaker only.
You can eliminate the routine entirely by saying "Enable Radio Paradise Skill on Bed Right" each time but frankly that's rather tedious!
It's a huge shame RP doesn't work with paired devices but at least I can now listen to RP again without unpairing the 2 Dots, or having to listen to Spotify RP playlists (which just aren't there same as listening "live").
You may have been using a workaround, that they may have patched. Not sure, just know officially they don't allow it for non 'Music' skills. https://old.reddit.com/r/alexa...
OK, so I've had to add the RP Main stream to my MyMedia For Alexa via my Raspberry Pi, and so now "Alexa, play Radio Paradise" has to be "Alexa, ask My Media to play my Radio Paradise internet stream" rendering the RP skill moot for stereo playback.
Sheesh, why does Amazon have to make everything such a ball-ache for such a simple task as playing an audio internet stream to a paired set of their own speakers?
Which sadly is not available in the UK (RP on TuneIn). Oddly the Boom Radio app does support speaker groups (well I say supports. It just plays out of the box through paired echos). Maybe have a word with them and piggy back on? ;-)
So, may I ask what's changed? We used to be able to get RP on paired echos.

Nothing new here unfortunately. The skill doesn't support speaker groups. The issue we ran into is since echo devices don't support gapless playback it was better to rely on TuneIn for that feature.

Well, it appears the dreaded Alexa paired speakers issue has raised it's head again, and is not working. Oddly, using the skill to play RP only permits only one unit to be selected, and not a paired set. Any news please?

jarro, many thanks, normal service, in stereo, now appears to have been restored together with voice control. You have my vote for employee of the month, a 10% pay rise, and use of the corporate jet for your next vacation.

Should be improved now, but still looking into it.

I have a very similar issue, although my two echo devices are not paired (one is downstairs the other upstairs). RP is completely fine on the downstairs 2nd gen echo, but upstairs on the echo dot I either get âwelcome to RPâ and then nothing or the dreaded loop. Disable/enable, change of network and factory reset all unhelpful
please help me fix it!
So far so good. MAny thanks. Whatâs 10% of zero anyway?

Thanks for the quick response. It's very much appreciated. I'd have thought that by using the RP skill (as I have been doing for months now as I was aware that TuneIn had been problematic for RP for some time) that the speaker paring and stereo would have been handled by the Echo units & Alexa app. I've noticed that only over the last couple of weeks the stereo output had been flaky, even to the point that verbal instructions for RP to commence had been inconsistent, and would only start by manually running a routine I had set up to have RP as a "morning alarm". FYI Echo Plus s/w v 4128036484 Echo 3rd Gen s/w v 4128035204
It also seems that the Echo Plus s/w version is inconsistent with the official Amazon check list, but then I've also read that Amazon is a bit slow on publishing their s/w updates (go figure). Looking forward to RP in glorious stereo

I can explain the stereo issue. That currently requires TuneIn which is no longer an option in the UK. We're be looking into adding support for speaker groups, but Amazon hasn't provided an upgrade path yet.

Hi, I have an Echo (3rd Gen) & Echo Plus (2nd Gen) paired and set up as a stereo pair. Recently I'm no longer able to play RP in stereo. RP will play out of one or the other speaker, but not both. Coupled into that half the time when I request "Alexa, play Radio Paradise", Alexa will say "Welcome to Radio Paradise" but then nothing, nada, zip. I can stream music via My Media ok and in stereo, but live music streams only seem to come out of one speaker. Additionally the stream just seems to stop, and seems to lock up unable to resume for some time. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues in the UK or elsewhere in the world? I've tried the whole reset, de-register uninstall re-install rigmaroll, and it's still the same. It's not helped by Amazons useless/non existent CS/Tech support. TIA Andy
