By omission.

It is so bizarre.

Psychology 101; people believe what they want to believe, even when what they want to believe isn't true. What I want to know is, why?

We can go back to Kennedy who had a slate of alternate electors set up the same way Trump did this last election.  It was ok then but not now.

JFK's slate of electors was for Hawaii - which had just voted for the first time in a Presidential race.  The then-Senate president - the Vice President - who was overseeing the congressional certification (and also happened to be the GOP Presidential candidate: Richard Nixon), "asked for unanimous consent that the votes of the Democratic electors would count".  I guess that made it "okay" back then.  The three Electoral College votes from Hawaii would not have made a difference since JFK won by about 100 E.C. votes.  Trump and his people were attempting to set up (admittedly fake) electors in 6 or 7 key states. Anyhow, this thread has been hijacked.  Has anyone here gotten the "new" booster?

There probably were prominent Democrats saying as much after Trump was elected and inaugurated. But most of those people faced facts and realized Trump was legitimately elected.

Iirc the majority of Trump supporters still think that the 2020 was stolen or rigged and that Biden was not legitimately elected. There is no basis in reality for that position as proven by court cases and numerous Republicans inside and outside the Trump administration. And yet Trumpers still swill the Kool Aid.

If I may stand back a moment.

Some countries would have already jailed Trump.

Now it looks like he will die a death of a thousand cuts.   His reputation is the frontline victim.

My impression is that Trump's reputation is currently declining faster than the initial production of a fracked tight oil well.

The democratic response to the 2016 election was to transfer records to the the national archives, try to brief the incoming president about policy and intelligence matters, without much success, then move out.

Yeah, that can't compare to the kind of person that believes the election was stolen.   Those people are very mentally stable.

I agree kurtster.  Biden misrepresented the status of the epidemic. Deliberately or so it felt.

I tell ya, on more than a few occasions, I want to grab a big vat of lye soap and wash Uncle Joe's mouth out. Rinse.  Repeat.

Just another sleazy politico....  whose political ambitions trump public health.

Tracking the COVID death rates for the past few weeks. Nice that they’re holding steady at about 450/day. Plenty of infections, but no piles of bodies in freezer trucks outside the ER any more, like a couple of years ago.

I say it every time: we got lucky, somewhat, that it wasn’t a disease that killed the unborn or infants. We would’ve had a very different discussion/response to something like that. After all, it was only killing the old and infirm, so who cares?

And, sadly, it didn’t just vanish in spring as we were told by the guy in charge at that time. In fact, our top scientists were on the job and he wasn’t much support for them. The Russian/Chinese influence through our social media talked an awful lot of people into believing in snake oil and vapor ware. The former guy was, therefore, either bad at his job of protecting the country’s citizens from attack…or culpable.
