Why Many Black Americans Changed Their Minds About Covid Shots
Black Americans were once far less likely than white Americans to be vaccinated. But a wave of pro-vaccine campaigns and a surge of virus deaths have narrowed that gap, experts say.

Headlines are not solutions. They are teasers enticing you to read the article.

Ivermectin is the new hydroxychloroquine, a drug repurposed for COVID-19 that almost certainly doesn’t work but is still being touted as a “miracle cure” by quacks, grifters, and political ideologues. Are the data supporting it all fraud?

Not a very good headline, to yet another complex problem.
It appears from a scientific standpoint, there is a theory it might help, but the data currently available to assess its effectiveness is not sufficient, or not high quality. So, it should not be prescribed, and certainly not as a preventive. Whether or not it is worth pursuing further research? I dont know.

Enter ivermectin, an anthelmintic drug commonly used around the world to treat diseases caused by parasitic roundworms in both animals and humans. Based on a recent BBC news report, “Ivermectin: How false science created a Covid ‘miracle’ drug“, it’s looking more and more as though the clinical trial base for the drug as a treatment for COVID-19 is almost all either fraudulent or so badly done that it might as well be fraudulent. Given the publication of that news report, now seems to be as good a time as any to revisit ivermectin and look at the massive fraud that’s fueled massive grift and many conspiracy theories.

I know you like to dance Lazy8.  Sorry to hear that.

Our autumn Wind Bell Choir practices have been cancelled due to the 4th wave but so far most people seem to be on side with provincially-mandated vaccine passports.  (Crossing my fingers.)

———————————————————-

While I am on it.......    Folks talk about Canadians and others as being more inclined to defer to authorities.    I should not speak for others but I know in my case, that I am well educated and smart enough to know what I do not know or understand very well.  What I do not know or understand is far greater than what I know and do understand.  Frankly, it is almost intimidating.

It might also help to have some understanding of scientific and professional consensus and how understanding and opinions can evolve over time in those communities.

Great freedom-loving American patriot.

He's not alone. At least his dictat is an executive order, easily overturned. My state lege wrote such a thing into state law.

Which means the dance weekend we run every year can't require vaccination, which means (with the current case numbers here) we can't hold the event safely.

So we cancelled the event. For the second year in a row.

In the United States, we've now had a total of 45,313,353 total cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, resulting in 734,611 deaths and 34,797,165 reported recoveries.

Globally, there have been 239,127,382 total cases, with 4,874,993 resultant fatalities and 216,387,379 reported recoveries. (Source.)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that 76.4 percent of the US population age 12 and older has received at least one dose of vaccine, with 66 percent being fully vaccinated.

The CDC also says that 10.9 percent of the US population age 65 and older has received a vaccine booster shot.

This post strikes me as not relevant to the subject of this thread, Covid-19.  I propose that we create a thread in this forum devoted to kurtster—-his grievances, complaints, claims and proposals as they relate to his treatment by fellow RPers posting in this forum. By doing so, we can keep discussion focused on the clearly stated subject of each non-kurster-related thread.  Comments, questions, concerns, complaints?

Then you can keep from asking me similar questions that have no worth other than to post gifs of ronald mcdonald in these threads.
