I just tried it again for the first time today. If I am on RP here on the Mac I can't access logon only features on the phone. If I log out and close the tab with RP on the Mac then the phone APP and mobile website work perfectly. So I just have to close out of RP on the Mac whenever I want to use RP sign in only stuff on the phone.

I just have to remember to sign off on the Mac if I want to use the Song Info, PSD or RP website. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in the APP. There is no way I am the only person having this problem. Unless it only afflicts Moto X phones and no one else here has one.

It doesn't affect streaming from the main channel as that always works. It only effects things you have to sign in to use.

WTF!!!! I just found the problem and its 100% repeatable!!!!

I would have never guessed this would cause it.

It doesn't like me being logged in on my home computer!!! If I sign out on my Mac then both the RP app and website work 100% on the phone with wifi. If I log back on RP on the MAC then the problem comes right back! I tried it more then 25 times and its absolutely 100% repeatable!

Why would it care if I was logged in here? Its not the amount of times I'm logged in it cares about because on I can have both the phone RP app AND the website on the phone Chrome at the same time and it doesn't care. But as soon as I log in on the MAC to RP no more phone login access.

That explains why none of this other screwing around made any difference. And I usually leave the Mac logged in to RP 24/7 even if I am not using a music stream so thats why it wouldn't let me log in with the phone on other peoples wifi networks. But then why does it work using cellular data? Weird stuff, man.

OK. That makes no sense at all. Based on my understanding of how RP logins work (which is pretty comprehensive, as I wrote the code), it's just impossible for what's going on on your Mac to have any effect on what happens on your phone (with the exception of the PSD 'now playing' display).

Ok, I just changed my ANUS RT-N66U router settings to the OPENDNS numbers and verified it works on the  website. The only difference I see right off is that the IPV4 ping time on speedtest went up about 3 times slower but IPV6 is still 18ms max.

So I try the damn phone and same flipping' problem. I even used the "Wireless Settings" APP to match the DNS to the OPENDNS numbers again and still same problem. So it appears its not a DNS issue in my case.

I'd leave MTU alone ... at least for a while.

I used to fiddle with MTU when I was on XP, and it helped some, for torrents and such.  I see some are complaining after the Lollipop 5.1.1 update.  I have other issues with 5.1.1, but I generally blame my low rent cell service provider!

Here's a link you may already have seen.  Changing DNS and MTU on the router are mentioned (Google's public DNS IPs).

Yes that is one of the sites I stumbled onto before and when I did the hard reset I did the recovery mode boot like they said and wiped the cache and rebooted but of course it made no difference.

On the phone?  I thought you couldn't change the entries on the phone.

While I get the problem with other wifi spots, how about swapping the DNS out on the Wifi router, flush the DNS on your phone and test again.  That would mirror my config here, which is working.

Yes I use an app called "wifi settings" that lets you change DNS settings on an unrooted hemorrhoid phone. But it has to be rooted to change MTU however.

On your Wifi router, have you tried configuring a DNS provider other than your ISP?

I use OpenDNS.  Love it bunches.

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

OpenDNS is one I used on the phone. Even if it fixed it doing it at the router I still wouldn't be able to use any other wifi. I have tried several other wifi networks and have the same problem with all of them.

Dolpin worked fine with cell data on RP but just like the others no wormy with wifi, but only with RP. I can get to every other site I throw at it otherwise.

The fact that you are apparently only having trouble with the RP site could be a significant clue.  But I'm not going to claim to know exactly where the issue is.  I'll leave that for Bill.  DNS does appear to be in the mix, IMO.

I did try dozens of variations of DNS settings and still everything worked except RP...

It may not make a difference for the RP site but have you tried the Dolphin browser?  It works best of the 3 browsers on my Samsung tablet, and has simpler settings controls - you can actually "close" it and clear the cache easily.  It may be the only Android-based browser that runs Flash.

I just installed Dolphin and like Chrome and Firefox no go with the RP website. The RP app also doesn't work fully with wifi. All of them can access RP fully using cell data. This is an Android OS problem that only affects wifi.
The crazy thing is try as I might I can't find any other website besides RP that doesn't work on wifi. I did a hard reset and also updating from Kitkat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.1 made no difference either,

And of course it still works perfectly using cell data, This only happens on wifi, any wifi not just mine.

Click the Clear Host Cache button

Dunno if it's valid/accurate/useful.  Or if you've already tried this.

After doing some more research it appears to be a MTU problem. The android uses 1500 which is also what my router is set at. I found several instances on google where people had the same problem as me unless they set the MTU to less than 1500 (such as 1428, 1464 etc). The only problem is there is no way to change the mtu setting on an android phone unless you root it to get su permissions. Bricked Moto X here I come....

Yeah, now that I think about it, it would.  Probably do the same if you tried the numeric IP (http://23.92.178.67). Dunno what to say. It's a DNS thing.  It's stored a bad entry for www.radioparadise.com.  The suggestion I see when googling this is a hard reset (battery out).

Didn't like the IP number either, Did a hard reset and same problem also. Googling but so far finding nothing that will help.
