Hi, I could not find my problem mentioned, so here goes: on my main screen in the app the text 'welcome to radio paradise' is displayed across the cover art. This happens on my Samsung A53 but not on the Samsung tablet. Is there a way to get rid of this text?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that.

I found it by clicking the "Apps" button (which is usually a Favorites button at the bottom of the screen - or by swiping up from the Home page).  It should show all downloaded apps - even ones which were not moved to the Home screens, then dragging the RP icon to one of the Home screens.  I have a Samsung phone though - other brands likely have different displays.

He. Searched the forum and maybe didn't do it so well. but for the life of me I can't find the shortcut button for the app on my android phone. anyone have any ideas? I scrolled through all my apps and searched for radio and paradise on the phone and nothing. the only way i can open the app is to go to the play store type in radio paradise and then hit "open" from there. which is just silly. thanks for any help.

Only real thing you can do on your end is disable battery optimization for the app.   That is the main cause of quirky stuff like that.

In phone settings,  go to apps.  Select RP.   Select battery.   Then set to unrestricted.    Then restart the app or phone.

Thank you!

I've been having some trouble using the app on a Pixel 5 running Android 13. It freezes for 1-5 minutes when the phone changes networks. The most frequent instance is getting in my car and starting the app. The phone is still connected to the house wi-fi in my driveway but a couple of blocks later it freezes every time. Sometimes if I touch the screen of the phone to get the display back on and hit play on the app and my car screen and the stream will start again. Sometimes that doesn't work and it starts on its own after a few minutes, sometimes I have to force stop the app, and once a month or so the only thing that works is to uninstall/re-install. I have had these issues for the last year or so. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I use an old Android cell with RP ( because it is small ) to run/bike.  The device is beginning to fail.  Can some one recommend a solid, small Android device that is compatible with RP?  Weather proof would be a plus.

Very nice to see the RP app available on Aurora Store.....another aspect of living a de-Googled life taken care of.

Should be able to find a workaround for the cover art.  ( but haven't managed to reproduce this yet )

The reboot notification is more at the phone level,  but I'll see if there's any new info on that.   Not too optimistic though, that and the lockscreen controls seem to break in new ways every year.

Thank you for taking the time to look into it... ;)

Hi, Jarro.

Just to let you know Android 13 brought back the issue with the album art not matching the playing track again (you had fixed it for Android 11 ). Could you perhaps look into it whenever possible?

There also the persistent RP notification popping up when rebooting problem as well, but I guess that can't be fixed?

Thank you in advance... 😉

In case it wasn't clear.   I meant disable battery optimisation for the RP app.   And possibly the bluetooth service.

Disabled optimisation for both the RP app and Bluetooth, rebooted, but again the same result.

To troubleshoot, I completely uninstalled the RP app, played some music on Spotify, rebooted the phone, and no media controls popped up automatically, so not sure where the issue may lie...

Only thing I could suggest is check if the app is battery optimized, that is always worth a try.    And some people have suggested also disabling the battery  optimization for the bluetooth service if that is being optimized.

Strange behaviour:

Whenever I reboot my phone, and right after entering my sim card PIN number, the RP notification media controls pop up automatically. This happens on several devices I own and since the latest app update. At first I thought it was maybe related to media notification handling on Android 11 and that because RP was the last media app I used before rebooting the notification just 'stuck' there, but even if I use another media app and then reboot, the RP notification will still pop up again all by itself...

Not a major issue, but strange nonetheless. I just dismiss the notification anyhow and carry on, but was wondering if it could be looked into sometime... Thanks.

I've been using the RP Android app for many years now, and very recently upgraded my phone to Android 11.  The app works fine and as it should, but I cant' seem to figure out why while within the app itself album art corresponds to the currently playing track, but outside the app (like on the notification shade controls and on the lock screen) album art is always one track behind from what is actually playing.

Hope I can clarify it this way:

Say I launch the app and track 'X' starts playing; when it's over and track 'Y' kicks in, even though within the app track 'Y's' album art is being displayed correctly, on the notification shade and lock screen album 'X's' artwork still persists throughout the whole of track 'Y'.

Once 'Y' is over and track 'Z' starts playing, within the app album art will update to 'Z's' album art, but outside, track 'Y's' artwork will now be showing, and so on an so forth. Only if I stop playback will the artwork update to the correct one on the notification shade or lock screen...

I don't find this behaviour on the other music apps I've tried on Android 11, and album art is constantly updated both on the apps and on the notification shade controls, so I guess it could maybe be an issue with the way the app receives and handles track metadata?

It's not really a big deal, since the music is what's important and the app otherwise works with no hiccups, but was wondering if anyone's got a similar issue, and if the developer's could maybe look into it sometime.

Thanks is andvance!
