middle of the night the thunderstorms woke me up and the downpour lasted, and I agree with grip, for 20 minutes.
I refused to get out of bed to see the racket.

The only reason the Yankees beat the Red Sox last night in six innings because it was raining.

Wish we could trade some smoke for rain......   An international barter of this kind would work for us.  ;-)

I was thinking about that...5 mins of that rain would put out any fire.

We have a fish pond that historically needs some water in July/Aug from evaporation...not needed this year.  Runoff would add feet to a reservoir...alas most of our excess is in the ocean now.  Read it and weep.... NYC reservoir status   Note the July rainfall vs. avg (doesn't include yesterday).

Yes to both.
And the last one too!

It has been really nasty these last few weeks.
Yesterday I did a small job in a bathroom. I had to insulate a wall, hang the drywall, finish and texture it.
By the time I carried the material from my truck to the house... I was sopping wet with sweat.
It was air conditioned inside, but I remained dripping the whole time working there.
Today the dewpoint dropped a little. So it's not too bad.
It's supposed to get worse next week.
Wonderful.
Maybe we'll get some thunderstorms!
