They actually work, at least in the short-term. Couple years ago i fractured my back in a hiking accident. Had to wear one of those clam/turtle shell type back braces (covered my back and abdomen). Lost about 10 pounds the first week from all the sweating...but it came back after i stopped wearing it.
Well there you go. Start a new fashion trend and wear that thing!

I used to have a Texas Tornados CD somewhere... I seriously must have misplaced a bunch of disks because I haven't heard it in years now that I think of it. But that was a cool outfit. Doug, Augie, Flaco, and Freddy Fender... look for their set on Austin City Limits. I wish I could've seen that party band...
Those guys are all legend around here in San Antonio. Flaco and his brother Santiago both lived in my service area back in the early 80's and I met them while repairing their cable services...Really nice, down home types. Doug and Augie rocked this city for a long, long time after their time with the Quintet in numerous groups, together and apart. Good times.
Nice to see a very young Augie Myers on the organ as well. Doug checked out in '99...Gone much too soon.

This made me jones for some more Ken Nordine. Here you go; one of my favorite tracks. One that always comes to mind when we get into election season, the season of political promises:
"Somebody told us what we wanted to be It was candy for the mind. Look behind and you will see, it was circusy. It was hi diddle diddle It was cat and the fiddle It was safe as can be It was right down the middle It was fantasy, fantasy galore It was everything we ever wanted It was that and so much more

It's Dawn Wells sitting on the stool - a few people on that site were guessing Sally Field. I can't figure out who those people are next to Roger C. Carmel - the ones with the striped shirts.
