Is that a trick question? I can show you my version if you want. Now will that be 4th grade and less or will it be everything beyond that, because if so I'll have to start digging in the yard...

Entertainment and Opinion can still exist, just not labeled as "News." Even the left will have to adjust. They've been leaning in this direction too.
"The View" has no reference to 'News' in its title. In fact, its title infers opinion and personal perception. "Real Time" has no reference to 'News' . . . you see where I'm going with this.
Labeling. Rhetoric. What Republicans have perfected in the last 30 years. Words (and labeling) DO matter.
And yet somehow you managed to find the FACTS and EVIDENCE without a federal agency to guide you. Oh, but look at all those poor, gullible people out there who need that guidance. What about them? Who will hold their minds' hand thru the darkness?
Well, for the last four years it would been someone appointed by Donald Trump. Ponder that.
Not sure your meaning. What is provable and what is not is pretty damn clear. Gravity is a fact. Democrat pedophilia rings are not.
I'm not advocating some agency in charge of determining the 'truth,' and certainly NOT be any individual's bias. But there have been regulations regarding the LABELING of products, pharmaceuticals, medical systems, chemicals, etc. as per the facts and evidence regarding their effectiveness, ingredients and function â for everyone's health and safety... We MUST keep Free Speech, but why not 'Product Labeling' with that? How do we balance Free speech and Incendiary/Hate speech? OPINION is ok - great for discourse and debate. Just don't label it 'News.'
Fraud, Defamation, Libel laws allude to this as well. They imply legal 'falsehoods.' Not sure how they work. I'm just tossing this out there and curious for input. Need to take this to the Opinion Tolerance thread

Sometimes I say gosh and sometimes I say close and sometimes I say wow and sometimes I don't say anything because why? My big head is why. Gets me in trouble every time. Lol
My mind is a dangerous neighborhood; I have no business going in there alone.

Truth in Advertising: We've done this with pharmaceuticals and food labeling... why not with tech communication and broadcasting?
Example: Any broadcast or social media can only label themselves "News" if they adhere to a rigorous test of provable facts and evidence.
If it does not, it cannot call itself "News." It may call itself Opinion, Thoughts, Musings or Doggy bags, but not 'News.' Breaking these broadcast rules would results in severe fines, suspensions and license revocations.
The War of the World's broadcast in 1939 resulted in panic, property damages, accidents, injuries ... all because the public didn't know the difference between a show and real Journalism. Broadcasting was heavily regulated for decades after that.
Can we not do the same today? Free speech is one thing... but yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theatre is illegal. We can figure this out. Its not that hard.
We can enforce it with the Ministry of Truth!
With Provable FACTS and EVIDENCE.
