That does seem to bring out the "WTF did I log in for?" on the site. Not because there are differing thoughtful opinions on topics that are relevant to many of us - but because the disagreement becomes so vociferous and personal.

I don't have a problem with "that requires ¼ cup of sugar, not 4 cups." Because the answer to that is "thanks!"
But it's very very tiring to read "if you think it needs 4 cups of sugar, you're an idiot." Followed by thirty posts all saying the same damn thing over and over that I could've read on any news aggregator.
Especially on a web site where I presume we've all come together due to a common love of music. Why pee in that pool?

Sugar , why aren't you distilling your own agave nectar?

I am curious, not trying to create conflict here but I have a genuine question.  Who would you block?

There is only one Trump supporter that post on this site and I don't think he is offensive.  As a matter of fact, this site is one of the most benign and friendly sites one could imagine.   We have had offensive posters over the years here, but most are ostracized or downright banned by Bill and I have not seen anyone like that in some time. I think we forum members and ultimately Bill does an excellent job keeping this site civil. I see far more offensive things on FB.   I guess I just don't see a problem.

The forum has generally been pretty friendly for a while now.  It's the song comments where things seem to get pretty contentious at times and there are a number of annoying entities posting in there, but whatever...

Oh yea didn't think about that.  When I see a song on playlist that I like I go in there to comment occasionally and it at times does get a little hairy.{#Lol}

from the zappa files...
"Excentrifugal Forz"

The clouds are really cheap
The way I seen 'em thru the ports
Of which there is a half-a-dozen
On the base of my resorz
You wouldn't think I'd have too many
Since I never cared for sports
But I'm never really lonely
In my Excentrifugal Forz

There's always Korla Plankton
Him 'n me can play the blues
An' then I'll watch him buff that
Tiny ruby that he use
He'll straighten up his turban
An' eject a little ooze
Along a one-celled Hammond Organism
Underneath my shoes
An' then I'll call PUP TENTACLE
I'll ask him how's his chin
I'll fine out
How the future is
Because that's where he's been
His little feet got long 'n flexible
An' suckers fell right in
The time he crossed the line
From LATER ON to WAY BACK WHEN
