I saw John & the BBâs at The Little Bear in Evergreen Colorado in the 90âs. Very intimate venue, fantastic performance. He had a young Texas guitarist Buddy Whittington on lead guitar from the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton area. A true original, 1-of-a-kind artist.
I recall seeing him play with Buddy at the Palomino in LA.
Nice guy, talked to folks at the bar...true devotion to his art.

Damn. Saw him in 1970 at the Electric Factory in Philly. USA Union tour. The next album after Turning Point. Larry Taylor from Canned Heat was on bass.
A classy performance looking back. Pretty polished for those days. The people he played with and all the songs. What a legacy.
Rest in peace John, you've earned it.

That's a great clip. Newhart's characters usually didn't get as agitated as he was in that scene. Love the portrait of Stalin on the wall at 2:28.
The guy who played the sergeant was a brilliant character actor. Played smarmy and sleazy and quietly smug all at the same time.
I didn't know Norman Bates joined the army!
That was Norman Fell.
He was in a lot of things...
