Last time he did that he drove alone to see Black Sabbath at the Gorge, and then back to home, multi hours each way. But, he's now got video of Ozzy et al and a fond memory.
Developing an ulcer. My grown boy, but still my boy, was stuck in Boston tonight due to canceled flight, so without contacting me (plenty of points at airlines) he rented a one way car and is driving from Boston to his place in Pittsburgh - about nine hours on the road and not getting in until about 4am. Yes, he's a grown up, but he's still my boy. Can't help but worry (and be a little miffed that he didn't let me help him troubleshoot). Now it's too late. No flights from JFK that he can make if he would stop and drop the car.

Giggling while reading the threads, avoiding those that unnecessarily raise my blood pressure. I prefer the wit over attempts to convince the World of anything here.

Well I hope he has a safe drive. Standing on his own 2 feet.

Enjoying my first homemade soda bread (I usually make yeast ones) with a lovely spicy chicken stew including leeks, Garam marsala, cardamom, turmeric, and white beans. Turned out rather nice!
I decided, to give my retired life purpose, that I would gather up all the saved magazines from Milk Street that have simple âTuesday Night Suppersâ and make one every night or so. Some great results (a beef/herb thing in lettuce tacos, shrimp with tomatoes and mint, etc) and it makes dinner time interesting.
playing the first record on my new turntable SL-1210G-K My favorite test record Their Satanic Majesties Request mono . wow
Holy Shit, the price tag! Better sound like God's own Choir.
I was dubious about hearing any profound differences, but I have to say early on this has been a noticeable difference.
Just played Side 2 of The Royal Scam and compared it to a rip done in October with the same cart on my old 1989 SL1200 MK3 and damn what a difference. Even Patty immediately heard the difference.
I thought that I was doing really good and I was, but this is better. I wanted one of these when they first came out and even had one on preorder but had to kill the deal because money was real tight. They have made some improvements on the original since it first came out.
I'll be pulling out some 45 rpm albums that I know really well and re rip and compare them more critically after a nap. Been up since 2 this morning, doing stuff and dreading the setup part. Started that at 8 ish after a trip to Home Depot and finished around Noon. Setup was uneventful, since the tonearms are the same dimensions. Just had to tweak the cart a tiny bit to adjust the azimuth.

Put my AC in the kitchen window and plugged it in and the board was fried and wonât turn on just flicker. Had to go to Home Depot tonight and get a replacement 8k. Got the Media U-Shape AC that has an EER value of 16. Better than my old Frigidaire at 10.4. Iâll take the old one out and put the new one in tomorrow after the thunderstorms pass by in the morning.
