Nurses Union Once Again Quite Flattered At Their Portrayal By Uni Students At Halloween

"The skanking up of fancy dress costumes is prominent in Australia around this time of the year, as university students and high schoolers around the country find ways to make even undead rotting carcasses look kind of hot."

If you wait until the day after Halloween to buy next years candy you can save a bunch!

Went to the child-oriented Halloween concert by our little local symphony. It was good fun and matched my attention span. They gave the kids straws so they could conduct (or poke their brothers) as they went along. The stage was decorated for the spooky music and most of the musicians were in costume. All symphony concerts should have audience participation and kids dancing up front.

From the pictures I'm seeing, pretty much every adult in Pete is downtown right now, costumed and walking in the parade with all the kids. The kids then trick-or-treat all the downtown businesses before going back to their neighborhoods for the real deal. Looks like a hoot! We'll have to go next year.

It's an absolute washout for poor trick-or-treaters here—-but then, I'm guessing they're totally used to it in the NW.

It's really good to get so much rain after not getting enough last year.

We've had maybe 4 kids stop by. Unfortunately, The Breeders' Cup was held in Lexington this weekend, there is a college football game at the stadium three streets way from our house, and the city could have moved trick or treating to last night, but didn't.

So we have tons of candy left. I guess this has to happen every few years to remind us why we usually keep the porch light off, the blinds closed, and we don't buy candy for Halloween.

lily34 just arrived. I think she and Alison are going to watch Rosemary's Baby on Netflix. I might walk down to a neighborhood bar and watch the football game.
