Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night (Yes it is)
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
[Verse 1]
Bruce Berry was a working man
He used to load that Econoline van
A sparkle was in his eye
But his life was in his hands
Well, late at night when the people were gone
He used to pick up my guitar
And sing a song in a shaky voice
That was real as the day was long
[Chorus]
Tonight's the night, yes, it is
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night, yes, it is
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night (Yes it is)
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night

Tonight's the night

I don’t remember this song being so dreary.
Thanks for playing this fine track from Neil's darkest period, commonly known as "The Ditch Trilogy", wherein he grieved the loss of his friends Bruce Berry and Danny Whitten to heroin addiction. The other two albums in the trilogy were the live "Time Fades Away" and the sublime "On The Beach".
What a coincidence. Yesterday played my copy of this on vinyl for the first time despite owning it for 40 years. What an intense album.
Funny that RP decides to play this ancient song the next day!
