I'm not in love
So don't forget it
It's just a silly phase I'm going through
And just because
I call you up
Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made
I'm not in love, no, no
It's because

I like to see you
But then again
That doesn't mean you mean that much to me
So if I call you
Don't make a fuss
Don't tell your friends about the two of us
I'm not in love, no, no
It's because

I keep your picture
Upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that's lying there
So don't you ask me
To give it back
I know you know it doesn't mean that much to me
I'm not in love, no, no
It's because
Ooh, you'll wait a long time for me
Ooh, you'll wait a long time
Ooh, you'll wait a long time for me
Ooh, you'll wait a long time

I'm not in love
So don't forget it
It's just a silly phase I'm going through
And just because I call you up
Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made
I'm not in love
I'm not in love

Whoah, it's Slow Skate at Skateland, the new roller rink finally finished being built down the street, and our bell-bottom jeans are swaying as the colored lights spin and splash down onto the floor... The subtle hidden fluorescent accents are blowing our minds in the Black Light, the boys are looking at the girls that are looking at the boys and no one was afraid of anyone; we had not a care in the world, and then, the whole thing hits us all, and we fall -- under the spell:  "Be quiet -- big boys don't cry...big boys don't cry..." We'd kind of have to 'snap out of it' when the lights would come back on, as we'd be lost in thought for a minute... Truly, such a deceptively powerful song! Stretched-out in the bean-bag chair, this on the cool radio station, it would roll over me like a wave, and I imagined I could feel the heartache and anguish, amid the rapture, the intoxicating yet deadly beauty and horrors of Human Relations, even though I was still a young teen... All those spacey layers of silky vocals and synth; brilliant! That absolutely devastating timing, that plaintive grief and sneaky denial conveyed in the clever lyrics and vocals -- well done! I think that the impeccable sonic excellence that 10cc consistently flashed very much led the way for Alan Parsons' I Robot and Pyramid-era works a couple years later, too; LOVE IT! Thanks, RP!
Magic
Radio Paradise knocking it out of the park tonight.
Just a silly phase but with untold consequences......my heart is sinking.......deep breaths everyone
I’m ashamed to rate this song, I abstain.
Please help me, I don’t know why it’s significant that this song should be played at noon on  20 Jan
I don't much need to wait another thirty odd years or more to hear that again.

magnificent intro, Bill.  right there with ya!
For this occasion in 2016 my local FM played Bohemian Rhapsody, and hearing "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" after flipping away from the event was heartening.
Anyone else see the irony of 1/20/25 being MLK day and the inauguration of the orange tyrant!
Well I trully wish Bill never has to play this song again any other Jan 20th
Thanks Bill,  Your intuition does it again, a trip down memory lane for some, maybe a whole new thing for others.  In gratitude and peace,

never a wrong time for this song.  Well done!
The 70s was a remarkable decade for music. Some would consider this song to be somewhat sleepy but it's still a good listen once in a while.
