Overall RP has been a bit slow on the uptake with Bowie, i think. I get the feeling maybe Bill took some time warming to him? But glad he finally did!

There are two versions of this, check it out.
Showing my age. First record I ever bought. Love it.
I'm in a store and I hear the classic riff, but it sounds a little off. Then I discover some commercial country artist yahoo has stolen it for a song about some redneck drecht.

When I shared this song, testing my amps, lol, sporting a brand spanking new CD in '95 with my conservative mother who was (hesitantly) visiting my 20-year-old self for the first time that year. I could see the discomfort on her face walking in, knowing that the words went against her held fast beliefs. Or something to the contrary? I could see the strain in her eyes with the lyrics.
We historically would talk about everything & anything, but she didn't want to talk about Bowie.

What do y'all think?

1. Your mom deserves some credit for trying to connect with you and your  music.

1a. Maybe Bowie stirred some longing in your mother--a vision of a freer way of life--that she daydreamed about.

2. I don't know if your mom is still around but I bet that even she would find this song and Bowie's work comforting in a challenging way, a nice walk on the wild side away from today's rap music.
Amazing that it took this long to make into the rotation.

Granted it was airplayed to death back in the day but it sure sounds nice now.
Inspired by the Hamburglar.

OMG, you’re David Bowie’s love child!!!
Or maybe not.

This song is a 7/8 the first 10 times through the riff, a 3/4 after the 100th time.

sooo it's a 87.5% at first, then a 75% ... ?  if you say so
I read somewhere that Bowie actually came up with that iconic guitar riff.

I just re-watched the film "Moonage Daydream" by. Brett Morgan.  If you have not seen it yet - highly recommended. A powerful documentary with a lot of awesome footage.
This guy is good. I hope to hear more stuff from in the future.

That mad, screaming guitar takes me back to my own teenage rebellion! Fast, stylish, gas-guzzling cars with killer stereos, endless parties, Frisbee, weed and beer... Can also never forget seeing my super-cool E-School roommate Kenny B. jamming this on his old Telecaster!
Gold, pure gold!
This takes me back to high school. Great addition to the mix.
