Voices are singing
Moonlight and rapture
But pity and passion are for the children
When you go dry in your heart, come and find me
I'll hang my hat on the song that I'm singing

I'll hang my hat on the song I'm singing
Gracious and bitter, it makes no difference
When you go dry in your heart, come and find me
I'll hang my hat on the songs and I'm singing
When you go dry in your heart, come and find me

When you get bored of your mind, come and find me

I left my footprints out in the sand
And all the kissing brought us to bed
When I was sleeping, you shook me hard
I had no memory under those stars
We made a promise to remain strong
I have been honest, honest enough
When I was sleeping, you shook me hard
I have no memory under those stars

Wishful thinking
Wishful thinking won't set you
Cause yours is a strange way, I'll follow mine
And when you get bored of your mind, come and find me
I'll rest my head on the songs I am singing
When you get bored of your mind, come and find me

I thought this was U2. Hard pass.
This is really growing on me. Bump from 6>8.
This song is fantastic. Love the throwback vibe.
I do prefer Hamilton belting it out with the Walkmen (some gorgeous tracks), but I find his straining vocal to be mostly appealing and mostly effective. Its almost that sand and glue quality (maybe a little more sandy).
blech.

Yeah, with that "ska upstroke" offbeat I was expecting to hear a trombone come in.  Cool tune.
There's something irresistible about this song, his voice, the arrangement... I like!
Nope. Not doing it for me.
From Wikipedia, Leithauser had a summer job at Inner Ear Studios where he helped engineer Fugazi's Red Medicine.  Very cool!  And very different from the music he's playing here.
Love this guy's voice, and I really enjoyed what I heard of his old band. So much character in his voice, yet really unpretentious too. There's something nostalgic about his delivery I can't quite put my finger on. I dig it.
I find it interesting how with all the great music NOT on RP - stuff like this (solely based on the ratings)  gets in.

New does that sometimes.

I find it takes a few listens for many songs to reach my appeal button, not this one though I like it right away.
New to me, starts with a 7!
