You're sleeping night and day
How'd you do it
Me I am wide awake
Feeling defeated

I say your name
I say I'm sorry
I know it's not working
I'm no holiday
It's nobody's fault
No guilty party
We just got nothing
Nothing left to say

Another year gets away
Another summer of love
I don't know why I care
We miss it every summer

I say your name
I say I'm sorry
I'm the one doing this
There's no other way
It's nobody's fault
No guilty party
I just got nothing, nothing left to say

It all, all catches up to me
It all, all catches up to me all the time

I say your name
I say I'm sorry
I know it's not working, I'm no holiday
It's nobody's fault
No guilty party
We just got nothing, nothing left to say

I say your name
I say I'm sorry
I'm the one doing this, there's no other way
It's nobody's fault
No guilty party
I just got nothing, nothing left to say

It all, all just catches up to me
It all, all catches up to me all the time

Yes.   Where are we going?  Nowhere.

It is just a warm up for a story that never begins, a journey that starts over the other side of the hill but we cannot get there.

Good popular music is good story telling.
a solid "dos" of boredom.  {#Sleep}

I also agree.  It just gets boring.

I agree on all points.  Their catalog can sometimes seem like four or five songs with a hundred different titles.  But I guess if the formula works for them, why change it?

Great music. But on most National tracks, it's variations on the same music over and over. After a few listens, the magic vanishes. But the drummer has some groovy chops.

Snoozefest.

Would like to know if they can reproduce it live, or whether the drummer had err electronic stimulus.

I like the clarinet a lot  - but you have to listen hard to hear it.

Such a big fuss being made over these guys. I know they are talented and all, but I find their music to be so monotonous and gray.

I'm to the point now where I can identify The National in less than 7 notes!  Maybe this one will grow on my; first impression = 6.  (Great segue to Dave Mason though, BillG!)

Long Live RP!!
