You sent a photo out your window of Tokyo
Told me you were doing fine
You said the cherry blossoms were blooming
And that I was on your mind
But I couldn't make you out through the glitches
It's how it always seems to go
So we say our goodbyes over messenger
As the network overloads
When the network overloads

You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Off across the sea
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Won't you wander back to me
Back to me

Always fall asleep when you're waking
I count the hours on my hands
Doing the math to the time zone you're at
Is an unseen part of the plan
But if you'll be my bluebird returning
Then I'll be your evergreen
Standing tall on your horizon
Guiding you home to me
Guiding you home to me

You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Off across the sea
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Won't you wander back to me
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
How I wish that you could see
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
How I need you back with me
Back with me

You sent a photo out your window of Paris
Of what you wish that I could see
But someone's gotta be the lighthouse
And that someone's gotta be me
And I hope your absence makes us grow fonder
I hope we always feel the same
When our eyes meet past security, we embrace in the baggage claim
When we kiss in the baggage claim

You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Off across the sea
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
Won't you wander back to me
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
How I wish that you could see
You're my wanderer, little wanderer
How I need you back with me
Back with me

Ha!  I get what you're saying but I think of it in slightly more general terms.  In any relationship there tends to the one person who likes to move about; is adventurous.  The other tends to be more of a home-body.  I'm generalizing of course, but trust you get the drift?  Anyway, to my mind this is a song sung from the viewpoint of the homebody.  Loving somebody means you want to see them fly.  But it doesn't mean you don't miss 'em when they do.

Just some thoughts worth about 2pennies...oh..and the song is "Muh...average" to me.

I see what you are saying. My take is what my coworker deals with... His wife is a Shakespearean expert and she travels the globe nearly every collegiate break giving seminars and teaching study abroad courses on Shakespeare. Sometimes he goes, and sometimes he doesn't. He's had some great international experiences. And, he sometimes flies back home alone.
Sounds a little like Rush - if they lost all their talent and passion
after this song played both my wife and I looked at each other and said "that was awful".  Love some of the other comments too.  Milk-toast, whiney little boy who wants to control a woman.  Uninteresting lyrics and music from a band that should do better.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I suppose this could be his song about his ex-, Zoe D. It must've been rough; he had recording, performing to do, she her acting gigs...

It's spelled 'milquetoast'.

What an insecure person.
Why doesn't he wander with her instead of expecting her to do what he wants? What a paternalistic git. {#Fire}
I feel sorry for her, having a boyfriend who doesn't travel with her.

I love milktoast.
When I casually heard the song, I thought it was the Artic Monkeys. I like this one! {#Cheers}
normally like these guys, but this song is milktoast.
The end days are truly here...a DCFC song I actually like...
For a moment I thought I was hearing something new from Luna.
Didn't I just hear this a day or two ago?

I sure wish DCFC had more than one song recorded. I bet their other stuff would be as good as this constantly repeated song.
Its the DCFC channel again.

38 DCFC songs in rotation,
24 Jethro Tull,
8 Frank Zappa,
33 Dire Straits,
and over 50 Pink Floyd, but then its 50 years worth and there are some track variations.

Who is this cutie anyway, can i give her a lift?
I've liked the other stuff by them played here but this one doesn't really get going...
Reminiscent of  Al Stewart - Year of the Cat -  not a bad thing just sayin.
Ok, I'm sold on this album.  Where's my card.......
I like the album alright but this song just makes me cringe. So cheesy.
Considering much of the guitar hits right on the '80s post-punk spot, this song is probably going to grow on me.

Like a fungus infection.

Or flowers, once I'm dirt in the ground.
