I'm gon' get up in the mornin',
I believe I'll dust my broom
I'm gon' get up in the mornin',
I believe I'll dust my broom
Girlfriend, the black man you been lovin',
girlfriend, can't get my room

I'm gon' write a letter, telephone every town I know
I'm gon' write a letter, telephone every town I know
If I can't find her in West Helena,
she must be in East Monroe I know

I don't want no woman,
wants every downtown man she meet
I don't want no woman,
wants every downtown man she meet
She's a no good doney,
they shouldn't 'low her on the street

I believe, I believe I'll go back home
I believe, I believe I'll go back home

You can mistreat me here, babe,
but you can't when I go home

And I'm gettin' up in the mornin',
I believe I'll dust my broom
I'm gettin' up in the mornin',
I believe I'll dust my broom
Girlfriend, the black man you been lovin',
girlfriend, can't get my room

I'm 'on' call up Chiney,
see is my good gal over there
I'm 'on' call up Chiney,
see is my good gal over there
If I can't find her on Philippine's Island,
she must be in Ethiopia somewhere

Just no soul or emotions or hooks with their guitar playing. It's so standard, by-the-formula.

Sounds like it was created by a computer.

Well, you are certainly living up to the name YOU chose.
that be it

we need more of this guy

his live versions of Dylan's Highway 61 smokes

Your name says it all! .....IDIOT!
Excellent down 'n dirty shitkickin' old skool blues. Brill ;o)
I'd like to hear some Edgar here....
If you're going to listen to a 12 bar blues you could do way worse than this.
bump 8 > 9.  This stuff is off the charts.  Don't care what nobody says.
DANG, that was good!

Without knocking Johnny, "Dust My Broom" is such a fine tune that I have yet to hear a version I don't like, but I'm sure it gets massacred plenty.  That said, the original Elmore James version is the real deal and RP will be all the better after playing it, LOL.
prefer this version by cassandra
Now I'm really depressed.
His covers of Highway 61 just kick ass. Especially the live versions from the 1980s.
I saw Winter in 1971, touring behind "Johnny Winter And Live."

It was a life-changing experience - my first rock show AND my first unsupervised trip out of town.

RIP Johnny.
Just purchased this album. Sounded too good not to.

Idiot Wind indeed!

Know where I can get one of those computers?

{#Devil_pimp}zesty ! now seeing those two together would have been a show !
I just found a vinyl copy of Johnny Winter And in perfect condition.  Pick that one up if you get a chance.  Rock album before the blues stuff.  I think Johnny was like 25 years old and everybody else was no older than 23 including Rick Derringer.  No over the top guitar antics just strait forward R&R buy future badd asses.
Muddy Waters, followed by Johnny Winter.  Sweet!  Only thing better would have been to follow it with JJ Cale  or Leon Russell to keep that good vibe going!  Please play some Okie music soon Bill!!
FANTASTIC
This played at around 17:00 UK time, on a Friday.  Let the weekend begin.
Nasty slide guitar.  Play the blues, Johnny.

Amen, sister.  Seen them twice, and that's not enough.
This song is kickin it today! Awesome!
Let's update these lyrics:

I'd advise you to get yourself a new pair of ears. Only, I fear it would not serve as a remedy.

The slide part of the response sounds a lot like Elmore's style to me...
Not really relevant to ax killers like these, but the lyrics here don't match what he's singing.

woooo-hooooooo man this rock is AWESOME  : )

Also called Mojo Boogie according to a best of collection I have.  Saw him here in Spain a few years back, he could no longer walk unaccompanied but his fingers could still pick.  Brilliant musician and just grateful to have seen him perfrom live.

If you helped create the "formula" it stands to reason you sound a little like it. Johnny was an early master of amped up electric blues. A lot of people copied him. A lot of people still do.

Opening Rift = Immediate Chillbumps.
Dudes oughta learn how to play their damn guitars.... {#Bananajam}
Fantastic.
Very nice together, Derek and Johnny Winter, love his Music since the 70s. Saw them together at the crossroads festival. Very nice, very good.Thank you!
Please, please play more Elmore James!  These guys are good, but EJ is sublime; there is no substitute.
This song ain't over yet, but it's 20 minutes too short.

Great blues
The Wizard moves on to the next level. For me he will always be Still Alive And Well.
Thanks for playing, Bill, in honor of Johnny.  RIP
Good heavens to a smokin' hot blues rock axeman!
RIP Johnny.  You had a good run.  Your contributions to the music you loved will live forever.
RIP Johnny!
