Trapped in a prism
In a prism of light
Alone in the darkness
Darkness of white
We fell in love
Alone on a stage
In the reflective age

Entre la nuit, la nuit et L'Aurore,
Entre le royaume des vivants et des morts
If this is heaven
I don't know what it's for
If I can't find you there
I don't care

I thought I found a way to enter
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)
I thought I found the connector
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)

Now, the signals we send
Are deflected again
We're still connected
But are we even friends?

We fell in love when I was nineteen
And I was staring at a screen
Entre la nuit, la nuit et L'Aurore,
Entre le royaume des vivants et des morts

If this is heaven
I need something more
Just a place to be alone
Cause you're my home

I thought I found a way to enter
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)
I thought I found the connector
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor, just a Reflektor)

It's just a Reflektor, just a Reflektor
It's just a Reflektor, just a Reflektor
Just a Reflektor, Reflektor

Just a reflektor (repeat)

Just a reflection of a reflection
Of a reflection of a reflection of a reflection, ah!

Will I see you on the other side?
We all got things to hide

It's just a reflection of a reflection
Of a reflection of a reflection of a reflection, ah!

Will I see you on the other side?
We all got things to hide

Alright, let's go back!

Our song escapes
On neon silver discs
Our love is plastic
We'll break it to bits

I want to break free
But will they break me?
Down, down, down
Don't mess around

I thought I found a way to enter
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)
I thought I found the connector
It's just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)

It's just a Reflektor (repeat)

Thought you would bring me to the ressurector
Turns out it was just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)
Thought you would bring to me the ressurector
Turns out it was just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)
Thought you would bring to me the ressurector
Turns out it was just a Reflektor (It's just a Reflektor)

It's a Reflektor
Just a Reflektor
Just a Reflektor

Will I see you on the other side?

It's just a Reflektor

(AH!)

Will I see you on the other side? (Reflektor!)
We all got things to hide (Reflektor!)

It's just a Reflektor

Will I see you on the other side?

Very diff from the earlier stuff I used to listen to. Saying that, they have been going for over 20 years

not sure about that.  I think the concept of the reflecktor, that some many people and life itself isn't real but an illusion or reflektor.   Pretty deep and meaningful to me.

Ive listened to enough. 70s disco beat. Repetitive. Distorted vocals. I guess I don't get it.
Arcade gets a nice groove going here. They are really somethin else live.
can't stand the writing or the voices
total waste of production
like nails on chalkboard
I rated 8 because the power of this track is an old memory where someone put down "i don't know what it could be" in my glass one night, in a bar... I flied maybe one week in a trip "death night" with Reflektor... WAW !
From an original and inspired indie band to a mainstream average pop band.

Hahaha, this made me laugh. I rarely laugh these days. Thank you Rockit9.

There is just too much going on in this song. Some groups can do that and make a unified whole; Arcade Fire never seems to be able to get there. Now, you could say that's the point in this song or that song, but every Arcade Fire song strikes me as such.

Same here. I sometimes feel guilty about using AF as the benchmark for dross, maybe it's just a knee-jerk reaction against the latest trendy thing and I should give them another chance.

But hearing this track before looking at the screen I was thinking 'Oh, another bunch of newbies trying to imitate the Arcade Fire sound because they think it's cool'.

Then I saw that it really was AF!   Nice to know I can trust my inbuilt drossometer after all {#Dance}

My lowest RP score. An endless loop of this = soundtrack in hell.

Dunno what happened to these folks.  I like early Arcade Fire but Reflektor and Everything Now represent a hard turn in the wrong direction ... at least for me.

Entre la nuit,
la nuit des vivants et des morts,
Disco arcade Fire.....
Saw Arcade Fire in concert in 2014 and will again later this year.  Was really hoping David Bowie might make a surprise appearance during the concert as he had for the original recording of this single.  Easily one of my favorite bands of all time.  Thanks for playing Bill!

I see the last comment was from 2014.
Upon hearing this tonight I was brought to the fact that it as a great song.
Over the many years I have been listening to  music I have found that often time is a great leveler.
It must be like a good whiskey, gets better with age.
RP *so* needs a specific band filter so I can permanently remove this from my stream...
Meh.   A 3 at best

Well said...
I like some of their stuff, but this doesn't grab me.

Yep. This track has been getting a lot of 'airplay' in my office from people who repeat their tiny playlists over and over... I've tried introducing them to RP, but they can't cope with artists they've not heard of before... {#Beat}

Too much electronic kiddie stuff for me these past couple of cuts.

Like a Christmas tree....pretty for a while but it just gets tossed out when the glitter gets too annoying.
I don't normally care for electronic stuff like this, and I don't care much for Arcade Fire, but I find this track strangely compelling.

great, instant liking.... I guess the french bits help
I keep hearing the Bee Gees

What, it activates your webcam remotely? Spooky and not very welcome. Does it require your permission to use the webcam?
Not bad, not as good as their previous output. Besides...it sounds too much like David Byrne in the verse for me to like it.

Doesn't do much for me.  6

I'm guessing i'm gonna like this more with each listen, so for now i rate it a 7.
most excellent. :-) had not heard it.
I was wonderin when this would show up. I didn't really like it at first glance, but then it began to grow on me, and now I really like it; especially the opening which sounds a bit like Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels).

As a Bowie/Talking Heads inspired song with Afro-beat undertones and a modern production it's surely interesting. I have very high hopes regarding this upcoming album, let's see how it turns out.

Oh and I'd always prefer the extended version, this shorter version sounds a bit... awkward.
Really like this song, but I wish it wasn't played so much.  By the time the album is even out I will already be sick of this song.
At first hearing, i was uncertain, but it grows on you. I would usually shy away from a sort of disco rythm, but there is somthing to this piece that makes me want to listen again. cool video too, did not try the thing with the webcam though.

Great sound from Montreal ! I like it !
thanks RP !

I think it's got substance, but the superfluousness of the ornaments, as you put, is all but hiding it.
Yuck, plain and simple.
I think this song's got too many ornaments but lacks on substance. For now, a 3. Maybe a 5.
Such a huge band an so little compelling music.

I don't get it. Maybe their live stange prancing does not transfer well to audio.
Too cliche that they would use her French Canadian voice for this.  Dumb.

Why do folks think this sounds like Tom Tom Club, Talking Heads, Sisters of Mercy, Dengue Fever, ABBA ?

Maybe that's a good thing.   Variety !

This song is growing on me (or maybe it's being pushed on me). Anyway, bump from 7 -> 8.
Has an LCD Soundsystem vibe.... And LCD's last sounded quite like Talking Heads... I admire their energy but not sure I really like the song that much.
I'm beginning to actively dislike this act. I saw a few minutes of their thing on Sat Nite Live and clicked the go-away button within two minutes.  They looked uncomfortable and sounded like off-key train wheels.  Sorry, Arcade fans, imho they're getting to be getting floppo formulaic and affected pretentious.

I like the extended version better, but this is pretty good too {#Bananapiano}
Hearing lots of Bowie in this tune.

Not at all. I get that way more than the Talking Heads some people hear

Sounds great! There´s a lot of Talking Heads and TomTom Club in this song.

Nice!  Thanks for sharing
It's Talking Head-ish and a bit more upbeat and playful. I like it. A 7. But I don't rave about Arcade Fire. Guarded acceptance at best.
growing on me too.
Rock the casbah! I'm digging it, too!
Still sounds like Arcade Fire but with a new and improved edge.

The Sisters of Mercy association was because I didn't recognize David Bowies part, and to be honest, his deep british voice kind of sounds like Andrew Eldritch (from Sisters of M). Cant wait for the new Arcade Fire album.
this song is really growing on me  and the video is fantastic
eagerly anticipating the new album  - love it!
Listen carefully. David Bowie on some background vocals. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/david-bowie-sang-on-arcade-fires-reflektor-20130910
Thought it was new Dengue Fever for a minute...
I dig it.... S'funky
