Is there a mother of exiles
Is there a father of truth
Is there a shepherd to take us
Through the darkness of youth

Are there words that bring salvation
Is there a sky that never falls
Is there a voice, which moves love
That knows the hollow of your calls

Is there light that sings your heart song
Is there hearts in ghosts that haunt
Do shadows ever whisper
As they die from the weight of want

Did I ever really need you
Or was it an illusion born of time
Will you fade from my memory
Could I recover my lost mind

Is this road never ending
From this life and beyond
Are we always somewhere sending
The signal moving on

And if love itself can't save us
What use the cry of man
If love itself can't save us
What is the master plan

The sky is always falling
My will is dying here
The voices always calling
Behind the waves of need and fear

Give up now surrender
What are you and where
Who are you deceiving
When you pretend to care

A night owl and a carcass
A widow and a snake
A fire burning nothing
Except the will to need and take

A fire reaching higher
It may even lick the sun
God can feel its heat now
As all his humans run

From desire to desire
From need to bleeding need
With mouths still opened skyward
The mother still must feed

Is there a mother of exiles
Is there a father of truth
Will anyone find her way home
Or to the heart and soul of youth

Never heard of Joseph Arthur before now.  Love this song.  RP strikes again.

If the Novovax doesn't get here, go with the J&J, even though it is less efficient, but females be aware of clotting (on par with The Pill), or maybe the AZ and Merk drugs will make it moot (supposedly the AZ drug stops symptoms AND spreading by the infected, but you retain the high natural immunity you get from getting the SinoLungRot)

What?

Someone might translate? Please?
I suggest that the polio vaccine was/is a danger to planet earth. If one considers the immense damage that humans have done everywhere to everything, any tool that interrupts the struggle of life (e.g., viruses) to win back the tumble of life is to be opposed with everything we can muster. I have no idea why Joseph Arthur has his view of the vaccine, but maybe he's thinking very long term. Although, really longterm thinking would welcome anything that perturbs the planet's biota. From crises come new combinations. The conclusion I draw is that artists are as messed up as anyone else, maybe more. Interesting song, also.

Pushed from 9 > 10 today for the sheer complexity of the piece. Wow.

Well, they do sound VERY much like Alabama 3 who wrote/played the track.

I love this Fripp/Adrian Belew inspired sound!
very catchy, instant attraction - nice
LOVE THIS TOO!
I just saw this group in concert in their hometown, DC. An 8 piece group with 4 singers. It was so groovy. an 8.2 rating on this.
i'm not allowed to mention marilyn manson?
reminds me a bit of gary Clarke jr grea stuff
{#Drummer}{#Bananajam}
Haha anybody else read "copy paste is a sin" in the lyrics?
If my life choices bring me to the gates of inferno upon my dying day, this music will be playing.

And I will dance the nasty dance.
Reminds me of Sopranos soundtrack.

It's all about timing, I guess. At 4am Sunday morning (really Saturday night) it works like magic!!

I've only heard Joseph Arthur on RP, and I love this song!

You can download Redemption City from his website for free.  I'm sure he would appreciate a donation though...

Total dog gauze sick funk-mark it
Sounds like Mr. Reznor
LOVE that totally stanked out guitar! {#Guitarist}
This tune really intrigues me.  Amazon's "Artist Statement" on Arthur is an interesting read; he's remarkably prolific, active, and philanthropically minded.
Wow. I hadn't heard this before. Very, very nice.
WOOOW!
empty sad...beautifully done.
Groovin' Movin' Rockin'! Love it!
Without knowing a thing about this, I gotta say "F-F!!"  Funky-Fripp-ertronics.  And oh baby, that is some kinda good!!
Love it - and from Johnny Cash.

Different, and gooooooood!  Arthur Brown sound-alike voice and some crazy maniacal guitar work!  And, what, a tambourine?  Yes, this is good!
NO WAYYYYYY , IM WAY INTO IT, I CAN DEF INATELY FEEL IT!
Where'd that Campari go?
no thx. This sounds like a strange mix of Golden Years by Bowie and.. Slash's guitar?  pass.

This song is funky cool...  love it...
Yea, this could go away anytime now.
Very nice!

Trent Reznor on ketamine?
This is no classic, but it stands on its own. Don't pull it from rotation.
Must have been having a lousy day when I originally pinned a 1 on this. Upgraded to 7.
....7->8.....growing....
First time hearing this, and LOVING it! {#Sunny}

Guy thought his guitar is creative, but it's just boring.
Now, THAT was four minutes well spent. A must-add for the Mitchell collection.

Maybe.  But nowhere near as accomplished.

I hear interesting bits but the constant wall of sound simply doesn't appeal.

Wow — that was Joseph Arthur?
, Not bad sir, not bad!
Definitely a lot of Fripp and some Belew influence!

I was just going to say that this sounds like it could been done by Syntax (Meccano Mind). Very similar. Not bad.
In the sixties there were drugs to make this kind of thing bearable.

Just got back from a day on the water and heavy traffic - this set is exactly what was needed, that and a Gin + Campari.

Never heard of him, but keep it in the rotation - I can see it growing on me....
I thought this was Trent Reznor until I checked the details.  I like it!
I am somehow reminded of Bowie.
...woke up this morning, got myself a mother of exiles...
Yuck. PSD.
Wait a second - is this the guy who is the God of Hellfire?{#Dance}
oldsaxon, wassup - you logged on but then thought "I can't be bothered"?
I like this new one from Mr Joseph. I always find him hit and miss, but his hits are brilliant.
