Lyrics:

Oh, morning
Come bursting
The clouds amen
Lift off this blindfold, let me see again
Bring back the water that your ships roll in
In my heart she left a hole

The tightrope that I'm walking just sways and ties
The devil as he's talking with those angel's eyes
And I just want to be there when the lightning strikes
And the saints go marching in

And sing
Slow it down

Through chaos as it swirls
It's us against the world

Like a river to a raindrop
I lost a friend
My drunken hazard Daniel in a lion's den
And tonight I know it all has to begin again
So whatever you do, don't let go

And if we could float away
Fly up to the surface
And just start again
Lift off before trouble
Just erodes us in the rain
Just erodes us in the rain
Just erodes us
And see roses in the rain, saying

Slow it down

Slow it down

Through chaos as it swirls
It's us against the world

Through chaos as it swirls
It's us against the world
Glad I read the comments and realized I’m supposed to hate this band, as instructed by the RP elite. I will go and change my 7 to a 1 - someday.

JohnComm is the polar opposite of Romeotuma, who never has a negative comment on anything..

And the two things I admire most about Coldplay is that they acknowledge how very lucky they were to break without putting in years of struggle and they acknowledge that they could ever write as good a song as Radiohead.

CP sucks

Yeah, intelligent input, darling, why don't you just have another beer then?
Sounds better then there last crap album.
Pleasant enough. A bit self indulgent sounding to me.
sweet
His vocals leave something to be desired. Like, carrying a tune. But the lyrics are very nice, tune isn't bad either. I could hear this and be engaged, but Coldplay does take some getting used to.
I really don't understand the Coldplay haters. They appeal to such a large cross-section of socieity that their music is unifying. How is that a bad thing? {#High-five}
I'd only heard that god awful single (para para parabola oller oller oller or something) and written them off like everyone else. This however reminds me of Parachutes era Coldplay. Good job chaps.
What was the deal with that single? yikes.

Ouch on the 5.8 rating??

There's a lot of people who don't like Coldplay for some reason.
Too successful?

Hmmm. I guess everybody must love me. {#Mrgreen}
Okay, I have to say I REALLY LIKED "Viva la Vida" so much! Then when this new album came out I was seriously underwhelmed.

But this song (my first listen tonight) sounds like it could bring me back to listening carefully to the whole album.

(I know I keep saying "album" but it's just the word I was brought up with and like it better than CD or disc or whatever else I could be calling "collections of songs on one medium.")

So, Bill, thanks for playing more than just one or two songs from this collection. Now I'll need to research the lyrics and listen some more.

Oh, and I see A Fine Frenzy has just come on, hooray!
Seem to be leaning toward a point where these fellows need to call it a day - or return to their roots. The material's getting lame with the last two efforts. I was a big fan, really. Not so much now.
The instrumentals on this song are an 8.  The lyrics/vocals - 1 (as usual)
Ouch on the 5.8 rating??

It's like he doesn't know how to sing anymore. Painful. Awful.

Idk why people always say that he can't sing.

Weird album title.  Sounds like some kind of household cleanser or perhaps a spermacide. Anyone know what it means?

A solid ho-hum 3 like almost everything else from these guys.

No one really knows:

Coldplay and "bland" are not antonyms, but first listen of this one is a positive experience.  Good variety within the song, intelligent lyrics, and a touch of emotion from the band...
Nice play choice...favorite of the album.
