When you wake up alone
Could you live without it?
I don't think so
Make a note of the time
When you first think about it
I don't think so

I'm just as lost as you are
Does it make you feel any better?

Your impression of me
Is slowly getting worse
Yeah, I think so but
When the shield went down
I fell under the curse
Yeah, I think so but

I never thought
That you and I could come to this
I left you floating 'cause
You never struck me
As somebody that would ever drown

I'm just as lost as you are
Does it make you feel any better?
Does it make you feel any better?

I'm just as lost as
I'm just as lost as you are

Does it make you feel any better?
Does it make you feel any better?
Does it make you feel any better?
Hope it makes you feel a little better

Doesn't sound like Gomez to me if Ben Ottewell is only doing backup vocals.

I love Gomez!!! They are one of my top 5 favorite bands. And yes, Ben's voice and songwriting is exceptional. I have both his solo cds.

I was so happy to finally see them live a couple of years ago. Have you seen the Here Comes The Breeze dvd concert! Holy Shit, Ben killzzzzz it on  The end of How We Operate. And Olly's drumming rocks my world as well!

Well, that's all for now. just wanted to add myself to the "gomez is great" corner!

i'm in that corner, too!!

Which one's Gomez?
7 years since their last album? Need me some new Gomez now!
It's never Telling Stories by Tracy Chapman :( ...except when it is.

I do like this though.
The Great Gomez!
It's subtle and took me a while to notice, but the synth kind of reminded me of The Cars

Larry himself has been disbarred a time or two. These days his snazzy bow-tie does the lawyerin'.

Can I join too? I've loved this band for so long. Clever, energetic and endlessly awesome.

If you are interested in more Gomez, and you are like me in that you just go apeshit for Ben's voice, then I suggest their albums Liquid Skin and A New Tide.  The other dude can sing well too sometimes, but Ben is just amazing.  I know I am given to hyperbole and over-excitement when promoting bands, but I seriously think the entire music world is blind when it comes to Gomez (except RP).  These guys are better than the Beatles in my opinion.  They really are the most under-appreciated band in history.  I don't say that lightly.  Did I mention that I really love Gomez?

Well now, to them it clearly does...........do.......whatever.

Gomez is played WAY too much.  The Beiber boy band voice would seem to suit a different audience than this one. Its harshin my mellow.

Hope your Boxing Day was enjoyable!

Gomez is just a group of highly talented musicians, creative in the highest degree, who are just basically really good guys.  They probably don't do a lot of the bad boy rock stuff that generates attention and sales.  And, they don't whine.

I think so as well.
Saw Gomez twice on current tour, Asheville and Charlotte ... they rock.
Good song on a crummy album... hmm maybe I haven't listened to the album enough? What's the consensus?

I second every one of these points.

Saw these guys last nite! Awesome...AWESOME show!

This guy sucks. He does bring to mind the guy from Silverspun Pickups, a group that I am completely over.

Is it radio stations or Gomez deciding which songs from "Whatever's On Your Mind" get airplay? This and the other Ian song getting a lot of play, "Options," are the lamest on the album! I usually like the Ben songs best but I must say, two of the Tom songs, "I Will Take You There" and "The Place and the People," are the most interesting on the album and the most innovative Gomez tunes in years.

I wish the radio stations I had to listen to played Gomez so I could relate to your discussion.{#Mrgreen}

This is a very solid new album from Gomez.  IMO RP did a great job of adding the three best songs: this, 'Whatever's On Your Mind", and "Options".

Good to hear some new stuff!
Loving it!
