My high priest is folded neatly
Back in your box, oh Lord
Gone the song he sang so sweetly
Back in your box, oh Lord

Found myself astride a tiger
Lifted my head just like you said
Drown me now in down of eider
Get me to bed, oh Lord

Lay my bones in the cobblestones
Lay my bones in neat little rows
Lay my bones in the cobblestones
Lay my bones in neat little rows

Angels and idols spiralling wild
Wind in your necks, oh Lord
Landed gentry line up behind me
Wind in your necks, oh Lord

Smokey progress, backroom sages
Let me back in, put back the pin
Now I've found those torn out pages
Can't read the text, oh Lord

Lay my bones in the cobblestones
Lay my bones in neat little rows
Lay my bones in the cobblestones
Lay my bones in neat little rows

In the house where they grew you
There were secrets and mistakes
That the eyes that see through you
Would give anything to erase

But picture them counting your fingers
Waiting for the focus of your eyes
No, no, don't point fingers
Fingers are for pointing at the sky
No, no, don't point fingers
Fingers are for pointing at the sky

Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Lay my bones in the cobblestones

Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Lay my bones in neat little rows

Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Lay my bones in the cobblestones

Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Yah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
Lay my bones in neat little rows

Pretty similar song. Pretty good, also.

So, I'm in the middle of updating a spreadsheet and this song comes on, and I immediately say, "Built a rocket, boys." Scary, because every time I hear this song, I forget who does it.  Catchy, listenable, and probably danceable, if my back would only cooperate.

Romeo - could I take a raincheck on the dance? I'm seriously in pain (but I'm dancing, in my heart....){#Dancingbanana}

Miss you so much, Cynaera...

love this song...

I absolutely love this song. Elbow just gets better and better. I'm so happy RP introduced me to them.

Great stuff! Love Elbow, and love RP for introducing me to them!
Excellent tune, loved to see them yesterday at the Olympic closing ceremony.

You have clearly never driven on NE Ohio and Michigan roads.  Around here, a resurfaced highway is better than Christmas.

Really uninspiring tune!
This song makes me want to throw my PC out the window. This is partly my PC's fault, but Elbow just make me really tetchy. Not sure why either...
Thanks to RP, I too, have become a big Elbow fan!

October Sky.

Sounds like you're celebrating your liking of this song with a mathematical truth :)

very Peter-Gabriel-ish, this^^
and very good, too.
the synthesizer-sequence in the refrain is so over-the-top it´s almost ridiculous, astonishingly it is not at all embarrasing, but works perfectly
Liking it more and more 7< 8

Not really a "dancing" kind of tune to me, but quite an enjoyable one at any rate.

More and more, these guys remind me of Dead Can Dance (with a better-sounding lead voice).
Kinda creepy . . . in a good way.

I get the concept - it is setup in 'neat little rows' but do I want to listen or dance to it?  ... sadly, no
This and The Birds are my faves off the new record.
Really?  Just not feelin' it.  Really struggling to dance to it too...  Wanna keep an open mind, but, guess I can't get myself into neet little rows...

Ah Ha.....that's it.
My favorite band from the 60's-early 70's....Procol Harum
My favorite band from 2008-Present.....Elbow
Gary Brooker-lead singer PH
Guy Garvey -lead singer Elbow
Both lead singers first name begin with "G"......ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!....spooky.

The more I hear it, the more I like it. Made me stop working to take a look.
Sounds like XTC.
the lyrics and melody are contemplative but it was the horrible screeching in the background at one point in the song that made me look up the name.
Sorry to say so - disgusting!

Totally Agree. This may be my favorite from the new one.
Elbow is just one of the most fantastic bands..."Seldom Seen Kid" is a nearly perfect album...I'm liking what I've heard so far from this one, too! Thanks again, RP!

Not quite as good as TSSK

Better!
Just got back from seeing them at the O2 in London. Kinda weird seeing them in such a large venue, but they did well! Amazing show, but then, Elbow is always great live.

Wow...  this song is incredible...  this album must be awesome...

Not quite as good as TSSK, but still really good. I highly recommend!

Nothing they have ever done was <7.
Would love to see 'em in concert one day or another.

Love "Lippy Kids" on the new album.

Guy Garvey and the boys are on a roll!

I was just about to make the same comment

I've been hearing a lot of them on RP and I've started to like several of their songs. I like the chorus on this one "Lay my bones in neat little rows" but haven't sorted out the rest of them yet.

Nice to listen to new stuff and this one does sound good :)
New Elbow!  Very exciting!  They've come a long way since the robots of Any Day Now (though I liked the robots )

Awesome!  Another most excellent effort from Elbow.
