The butterfly sailed on the breeze
Past a field of barbed wire trees
Where golden dragons chased around
Pampered poppies on the ground

Two silver trout sat way on high
And watched a royal samurai
Plant two black orchids in a box
And strap it to a laughing fox

A minstrel bought a crooked spoon
He gave it to a blue baboon
Who filled it full of virgin snow
And wandered in the afterglow

A toad stood in his ballet shoes
Teaching sixteen kangaroos
How to skip across a lake
They found it hard to stay awake

A pharaoh played a merry tune
And watched nine cats dance on the moon
I didn't know what all this meant
I didn't know why I'd been sent

"NIne Cats" is a very col song - But I think, the original version is much better.
Steven Wilson is sooo good and he's writing song for many bands (Porcupine Tree; Blackfield, Steven Wilson Project...)
perfect image - exactly what should happen to anyone singing about butterflies and dragons  {#Cowboy}

Bluto: {smashes guitar against the wall} Sorry.

As usual, I still haven't heard anything by PT that I haven't liked.  Another 9 and keep 'em coming.
BRILLIANT...{#Meditate}
I like the part about skipping across the lake.......sublime
10 and out of the park....{#Heartkiss}

Saw Porcupine Tree this year at coachella.....

I have the studio version of Nine Cats on the Delerium Years compilation and quite like it.

This is fun.  I compare it to the We Lost the Skyline CD that consisted of just Steven Wilson and the American guitarist and vocalist John Wesley, and then made the following observations.

Wilson exudes much more confidence now.  He has become a significantly better singer.  And the lad learned a thing or two in the studio since 1997 I reckon .......

This is totally cool!  And for those of you suffering from the thick mantle of Radio Porcupine Inc. opression.  Suck it up!

These guys never disappoint at disappointing.
Silly song. Nice Guitar. Obviously Steve Wilson. meh.
