As I stand by your flame
I get burned once again
Feelin' low down, I'm blue
As I sit by the fire
Of your warm desire
I've got the blues for you, yeah
Every night you've been away
I've sat down and I have prayed
That you're safe in the arms of a guy
Who will bring you alive
Won't drag you down with abuse
In the silk sheet of time
I will find peace of mind
Love is a bed full of blues
And I've got the blues for you
And I've got the blues for you
And I'll bust my brains out for you
And I'll tear my hair out
I'm gonna tear my hair out just for you
If you don't believe what I'm singing
At three o'clock in the morning, babe, well
I'm singing my song for you

GREAT!!!  My favorite tune from this album is "Can't You Hear me Knocking", with the iconic jam at the end!

Who plays the Hammond on this,  oh wise RP listeners?

The man known as the Fifth Beatle

Billy Preston on the Beatles - YouTube

That would be the inimitable Billy Preston.  Among the MANY artists that he played with over his career, he played on the Stones albums: Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street, Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock and Roll, and Black and Blue.

Check out the Disney Plus doc on Let It Be, where the Beatles are griping and grumping until he swings into town, and suddenly all the sessions come alive.  Apparently they knew him from the Hamburg days, when he was playing in Little Richard's band.  His joy banishes the dark cloud that had hung over all the previous rehearsals.
sounds a bit like the Stones, the organ ruined it tho

"Best Album" with the Stones seems like an impossible decision!

Between this and Let it Bleed and Exile on Main Street, it's pretty much a coin toss.
Different shades of excellence.
