So, the mental tension and disarray of a violent act and realization likely comes out as musically discordant--dissonance is the key to much of the musical texturing Jeff Tweedy employs to evoke emotion and experience. This tune, in full context, succeeds in drawing that emotional landscape: imagine coming down from a raging drug/emotional violent high and then confronting the realization that something awful has happened, there's blood on the car and on your hands. Cacophonous works... for me.

This song I like the least on the record. Overall I think people will really like this, lots of good songs on this one, like Wilco (The song) and the duet with Feist.

I really liked the first part, although the rhythm guitar is a little on the harsh side, but the last part was a headache inducer.  Maybe in the old days I would have laid on the floor between a set of stereo speakers after smoking a doobie and gotten a good self-induced freak-out from something like the last half of this song, but those days are long gone.
