Love hearing those lines!
They bring back warm memories of my lone cycle tour of Scotland one summer. After a few hours pedalling against the driving rain, I pulled into a lay-by where there was a bright yellow double-decker bus.
At first I thought it would be a bunch of juggling, anarchist hippies, but it was a retired engineer and his young grandson – like something directly out of a Roald Dahl story!
They invited me in out of the rain, put the kettle on, and we compared notes about all the great things to see in Scotland.
Just us among the pine trees and waterfalls, in the middle of nowhere.

I saw them last weekend and they were great.
Rogers voice was as I'd remember it, Pete's guitar also, and the musicians were great. So all in all I enjoyed it very much.
My only regret is I did not catch them live before...

Geographically large countries are not a rarity, but one with such a network of drivable roads and a splendid variety of geological, horticultural and cultural diversity affords the opportunity to drink deeply - which we did. Just back from my 5,000 mile journey across the US - which turned into a 9,600 mile journey. Saw it all with a 19 year old Welsh Terrier by my side. If you ever get the chance, my friends...

Yep - the photographer had to fill his empty film canisters with rainwater and then pour the contents at the appropriate "strategic" points on the monolith. The site of the photograph is a waste dump. This monolith is one of several put in place to keep the waste from shifting within the site.

One of my favorite songs from my favorite band. I play guitar and am interested in classic rock because of pete townshend
This song makes me think of my best friend, who lost her home to some bad circumstances and ended up with a pickup truck and an RV. She now travels with her husband, who goes where the work is. She's my Gypsy on the Road, and this song describes their life perfectly. They're much happier now than they ever were when they were rootbound! I like The Who when they're subdued like this and just show what they can do without all the bombast and crap. Stuff like "Who Are You" or "Eminence Front" — forget it.

this song goes down as the most played in my head tune on my first bike tour from Arcata to San Francisco thru the redwoods and then along the rugged northern Californian coast . First year out of the house, on my own, on the road - goin mobile!
