They were sitting
They were sitting in the strawberry swing
Every moment was so precious
They were sitting
They were talking in the strawberry swing
Everybody was for fighting
Wouldn't want to waste a thing
Cold cold water, bring me 'round
Now my feet won't touch the ground
Cold cold water, whatcha say?
It's such, it's such a perfect day
It's such a perfect day
I remember
We were walking up to strawberry swing
I can't wait 'til the morning
Wouldn't want to change a thing
People moving all the time
Inside a perfectly straight line
Don't you wanna just curve away?
And it's such, it's such a perfect day
It's such a perfect day
Ahh...
Now the sky could be blue
I don't mind
Without you, it's a waste of time
Could be blue
I don't mind
Without you, it's a waste of time
Now the sky could be blue
Could be grey
Without you, I'm just miles away
Now the sky could be blue
I don't mind
Without you, it's a waste of time
They were sitting in the strawberry swing
Every moment was so precious
They were sitting
They were talking in the strawberry swing

I get a laugh out of it when I hear of the nonsense as if one likes EITHER Coldplay OR Radiohead.
wow, this is a Coldplay song I like.
great rhythm, pleasant harmonies.
Didn't know, didn't try to know. my bad.
Thanks RP!

I know it's each to their own, but for me, this is one of my all time favourites. The video is stellar too - anything with a giant chalk squirrel has got to be good.
As absolutely shite as Coldplay truly have become, this was the last of anything credible they ever put out. Such a beautifully written tune!
4 - 'Acceptable'
That's as good as it can get for coldplay

Nope, I'm with ballyhairs on this one. I will have to look into that mute thingy! You mean to tell me that you think there is actually someone that has not had their fill of this tripe; in elevators, the grocery store and so forth. We come here to here stuff we normally wouldn't hear anywhere else, having said that, I don't mind if they play this, but no matter how many times I hear it, it's still gonna be crap!
This is the first time I've ever heard it. Hope it's the last.

"Steady chug". Good description and definitely the best feature of the song.

For me, it is not about mainstream, it is about suck or not suck. There is some good mainstream music and some sucky obscure stuff. This just happens to suck IMO, the fact that it is mainstream is a side note.
Another side note; this particular song is really not that bad, but this album on the whole is whiny suck.

The strawberries are swinging and the grapes are grooving and, as usual, the bananas are ballroom blitzing.

First time hearing this. I had felt the other tunes on this new disc were predictable, less listenable than the previous disc. This selection is getting there for me. Nice hook. I agree with the others, riskier is okay, sometimes. But not to the point of weird.
Very appealing. These guys almost have Beatles melodious prolificacy.

Yep. I was just thinking how this is the first Coldplay song I've heard that doesn't sound almost exactly like another one. Not that I don't like their music BUT....a little diversification is never really a bad thing. I think it's about time, after what - 3, 4 albums?
Starting, just starting to experiment - come on boys, be brave... you won't be great until you try being a bit different.

First decent song I have heard from this.....still weak though.

It grows on you, not my favorite at first but after a few listens it's my favorite on the album.
I've heard better ones from Coldplay!
